Ratings: CBS Sweeps Another Thursday
Thursday's tallies at a glance:
8 pm/ET Survivor (14.76 million total viewers) and Betty (10.73 mil) were both down a hair. Behind 5th Grader, Earl (7.97 mil) gained 310K, but 30 Rock (6.47 mil) slipped 140 thou. Smallville (4.49 mil) dipped 110K.
9 pm At 21.29 mil, CSI was down 600K from last week's crossover. Grey's placed second with 19.28 mil, but was No. 1 in demos. The Office (8.86 mil) saw a 570 thou increase, while Scrubs (6 mil) dropped 320K. Supernatural (2.89 mil) was down a hair.
10 pm Trace was on top with 14.49 mil, down an understandable 33 percent from last week. ER surged more than a mil to 9.52 mil, while Women's Murder Club (8.93 mil) bested Big Shots' last tally by 310K.

Matt, I have a question. Has any thought been given to having the ratings on its own page, separate from "Today's News: Our Take"?
Last night, I wanted to compare Big Shots' week-to-week ratings, and it involved a lot of searching through the back pages. It's not a big deal, but it would be convenient to have them a little easier to locate. (I wonder if anyone else would like to see this.)
Incidentally, what really frustated me in my search last night was that anytime my cursor when anywhere near the "bookmark" area, it brought up one of those rollover windows, which take too long to disappear. (I still don't know the point of those bookmarks and how they make things any easier for us.)
Anyway, thanks for reading (and putting up with the whining).

TV Gord, I don't think Matt would have the ratings on a separate page because I think it's what attracts the majority of traffic to Today's News: Our Take. TV Guide would rather you search through pages and pages for your information so that their traffic meter would increase. Sad but it's the truth.

You are probably thinking of Criminal Minds and Private Practice. CSI (6.4) did not beat Grey's (7.1) in the demos.

I love it when people tell me how the site works. Makes me tingly.
To Gord: We have been looking into it, but perhaps not until next year.

Matt, I love it when you get all tingly!
Um, that sounded a lot less bro-mantic in my head.

(Is it me and my computer, or are the emoticons a lot less ... emoty ... today?

I'm annoyed that I missed Women's Murder Club. I had read here on TVGuide.com that ABC was planning to test it in Big Shots' slot to see if they could retain the Grey's audience. But I didn't know they were starting last night, unless I missed something. I only found out when there was an announcement after Grey's was over. I know I could always watch it on ABC.com, but I don't prefer to watch that way.

Matt, I must correct you. I am talking about CSI-Grey's last night, and here is the link to thefutoncritic: http://www.thefutoncritic.com/ratings.aspx?id=thursday
CBS (households: 10.6/17, #1; adults 18-49: 5.1, #1) managed a rare adults 18-49 win on Thursday thanks to new episodes of "Survivor: China" (households: 9.0/14, #4, half-hour: 8.14%; adults 18-49: 4.8, #T3, half-hour: 18.18%), "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" (households: 13.2/20, #1, half-hour: 3.08%; adults 18-49: 6.4, #2, half-hour: 3.17%) and "Without a Trace" (households: 9.6/16, #3, half-hour: -3.09%; adults 18-49: 4.1, #5, half-hour: -9.30%).

CBS' own press release from today:
"CSI was first in households (13.2/20), viewers (21.29m), second in adults 25-54 (7.9/17) and adults 18-49 (6.4/15). "
CBS was first for the overall night in 18-49, yes.

But Sheldon, it was one of the most powerful e.r.'s ever. If we had to NOT miss one episode this season, this was it. It was such a "very special episode of e.r.", I half-expected Tootie to show up on a stretcher after falling off her roller skates!
...not that I let myself be taken in by the hyped-up promos or anything...

Scrubs and 30 Rock are both really funny and deserve much better ratings.
Also, CSI is sh!t.
