Tuesday's tallies:

8 pm/ET
American Idol's top 10 performance show averaged 24.4 million total viewers over its 90-minute run, slipping 2.6 mil week-to-week and nine percent year-over-year. (What'd you think of David Cook's take on Chris Cornell's cover of "Billie Jean"? Vote here.) Biggest Loser (6.82 mil) dropped 14 percent, while Beauty and the Geek matched last week's 1.62 mil.

9 pm
Dancing with the Stars did 17.2 mil, up 600K from the previous season's first results show. Leading out of Idol, 'Til Death enjoyed a robust 10.82 mil, up an inflated 80 percent from its last fresh eppy and the series' largest audience since April 4, 2007. Big Brother (5.95 mil) gained 470 thou.

10 pm
Trailing Primetime (10.4 mil) and an SVU repeat (8.54 mil), CBS' final episode of Jericho inched up 210K, flirting with an even six mil.

Guess I'll be giving my extra peanuts to some circus elephants this summer instead of TV execs. Hey, at least we got a mini-season out of the effort. It's not CBS's fault more people would rather sit brain-dead in front CSI Miami or Criminal(truly) Minds.

Hmmm, then again.....

So Jericho had higher ratings than its lead-in Big Brother. Big Brother has already been renewed for this summer. Meanwhile, looks like Jericho is done for good. That is just sad.

'Til Death enjoyed...the series' largest audience since April 4, 2007.

April 4, 2007 -- another night where it had American Idol as a lead-in.

Any show could air after Idol and enjoy its largest audience ever -- even 'Til Death, a lame stool sample of a show if there ever was one.
