Presidential Contenders Debate Gay Issues on Logo
Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, John Edwards and Christopher Dodd have all agreed to participate in an August 9 Democratic presidential debate on gay issues, to be hosted by the Logo cable network, Variety reports. Questions will be served up by a panel that includes Melissa Etheridge and Joe Solmonese, prez of the Human Rights Campaign (a cosponsor of the face-off). It is said that gays account for four percent of the voting population.
Though invites were tendered, no similar forum will be held for the Republican candidates, as Mitt Romney's peeps said no and the Rudy Giuliani and John McCain camps never even RSVP'd — not that there's anything wrong with that.

Why isn't Isaiah Washington involved in this?

Yes there's something wrong with that. It's rude. Plus, avoidance of the issue doesn't make it go away.

Yeah, you're right katcon. They talk about being for every American when in reality, they're not. Our (everyone) feelings and opinions are supposed to count for something to the politicians thst are fighting for the the seat in the White House so it can be a better America, and they don't give a damn and it shows, just like how it was with the Katrina victims (I brought this up in a previous post). It sort of like the politicians of the 60's who were against segregation but chose not to speak bout it 'cause it would ruin their credibility, and yes I'm comparing these dead weights to them. Because at one point McCain, Romney and Guiliani's ancestors were probably fighting for the same respect that minorites, religion groups and homosexuals (that's me) are still trying to get today. This is what make me not trust a Republican, and I know that they are not all that bad. This current group of them make the good ones look so bad and they come off as idiots. They ought to be ashamed of themselves.

People should sit up and take notice of who is willing to do this and what they say. Tolerance and openess to all topics are important traits for someone you want leading our country. If they can't even talk about it, then before running for president they need to remove the rigid cob out of their butt and engage their brain.

Hey, here's an idea. Why don't they get Mark Cherry, DeRoy Murdock or some other Log Cabin Republicans involved and really make it interesting? I can only imagine the softballs they're going to get from Melissa (love the music, glad she's cancer-free, but as a political pundit ... not so much) and the president of HRC.
