Pilot News: Battlestar's Helfer Tries Shrink Rap

Tricia Helfer in Burn Notice by Dan Littlejohn/USA Network Photo
As part of her holding deal with Fox, Tricia Helfer (Battlestar Galactica) has landed the female lead in Inseparable, a drama pilot from Shaun Cassidy (Invasion) and revolving around a partially paralyzed forensic psychiatrist (Lloyd Owen) with a Jekyll-and-Hyde-type split personality. (His alter ego is a master criminal, and one not at all paralyzed, I would guess. Not that the partially paralyzed cannot serve as capable crooks; I just imagine it would impair the traditionally desired "quick getaway." But I digress.)

Per the Reporter, Helfer — whom I actually just spied while screening the most excellent Burn Notice season premiere — will play a shrink who evaluates suspects for the police — and thus, probably on more than one occasion, casts a curious eye on Owen's antihero. — Matt Mitovich

Even if I weren't a Tricia Helfer fan, THIS looks interesting. Reminds me a little bit of BBC's "Jeckyll."

She will be and is good in everything. I'd watch anything with Tricia.

Ohhhh, any good "spoilers" to give us from the premiere of Burn Notice? Nothing too juicy, just enough to get us through to the premiere??

Hm, sounds like this show has too many Big Ideas. He's paralyzed, but only when he's good, and when he's bad he can run a marathon! He's got a CSI lab in his evil lair! He's House, Iron Sides and Eyes Only rolled into one! It's Dark Angel meets Sybil! It's Sybil meets Quincy! He solves crimes, fights evil and rolls around on the floor gnashing the carpet until his lithium kicks in!

BlueeyedSara, the producers lost Toby Stephens when his contract expired. This one's apparently been in development for a while.

That said, I do like Lloyd Owen, remembering him from some great British series, so it'll be something I'll check out at least once.
