Pierce Brosnan Boards Thomas the Tank Engine

It was a magical day on the island of Sodor when Sir Topham Hatt addressed Thomas and the other useful engines.

"Everyone, I have news! Following in the footsteps of George Carlin, Ringo Starr and Alec Baldwin.... "

"Piggy-pig-pig!" peeped James, making the Troublesome Trucks giggle.

"Enough outta you," Sir Topham Hatt barked. "Now, where was I? Oh yes. I just read in the Hollywood Reporter that Pierce Brosnan will be the new narrator for the Thomas & Friends TV and DVD series starting with the fall release The Great Discovery."

"Well, bust my boiler!" scoffed Thomas. "He's certainly no George Lazenby."

Did I mention the twins just conned a Diesel 10 and a Byron out of Grandma? Grrr.....

My son outgrew Thomas the Tank Engine some years ago, but that doesn't mean that I can't watch, does it? I watched Oswald and Bob the Builder while they were at school. Well, until Nickelodeon took Oswald off the air, and Greg Proops took over as the voice of Bob. It just felt wrong watching the show with the image of Proops' usually-ribald improv from Whose Line.

With those twins, I just KNEW you'd have something to say about this. You make me laugh out loud every day!

I totally cop to using bribery on my kids from time to time. Thomas trains (40% off coupons at AC Moore, people) were very motivating!
