Paris Hilton, Special Favors in Jail? Sheriff Goes, "Hmm...," Looks into It
Paris Hilton by Kevin Mazur/WireImage.com
The Los Angeles County sheriff has launched an investigation into claims that Paris Hilton received (no!) special treatment during her 23-day jail stay. A sheriff's department spokesperson, promising, "We're going to... get to the bottom of it," tells the AP the internal probe (ooh, that's hot) will look into whether the heirhead:
• was given free access to a cordless phone instead of being forced to wait in line for a pay phone • was furnished a new jail uniform instead of the recycled togs typically given to inmates • had her mail delivered by a hunky jail captain instead of inmate trusties.
You'd think this investigation could be wrapped up by the time I finish typing this, no?

Ok, that's it! When will this end??? OF COURSE she was shown special treatment. I didn't care if she was shown special treatment, I figured she would be. I cared that they released her so soon. I wanted her to serve her time. I didn't care if she had her own phone or for her daily phone time was allowed a cordless phone. That's like being upset if she gets special treatment at a restaurant. I wonder what they're going to be looking into 5 years from now. It's too late if she was shown special treatment. Are they going to send her back to jail? No. Would I want them to? No. It's over, move on.

Who cares? I don't think she should have been there in the first place - why did she and Martha have to serve time and Bush's buddy Scooter does not? Please - can't we just move on with regard to Paris and her jail time.

Please, Matt, no more!!! I can't take anymore Paris Hilton info--I think my eyes are bleeding. It has gotten to the point where all I need to see is a capital P and my eyes begin to roll back in my head. I know you can make her disappear from here, my most favorite place for funny, fluffy stuff. My mom warned me that the lines on my forehead will be permanent if I keep scowling, so please make Paris go away from here. I am sure that if you hand Paris back to Mary Hart really nice-like she will take her off your hands.

More than 80% of the people arrested for, and charged with, the exact same offense, do not serve jail time. The judge is the problem in this case because he wanted to make a statement, plain and simple. Arrest and jail some of the real criminals why don't you? She should never have gone to jail in the first place and even the jailers knew it. At least they knew she wasn't going to stab them.

Matt, I think its quite obvious that she was shown preferential treatment, and I think its quite obvious that you believe that as well seeing as you wrote your article with obvious bias. (Not insulting you, in fact I commend you)
Unfourtunately, I do have one minor squabble about your work. Are you handed these assignments, or do you choose content of your work? If so, then I would blame you for a portion of Paris' entirely undeserved fame and consequential preferential treatement. You would be partially responsible for putting her where she is today.
If not, then I apologize and offer my sincere condolences for you having to write about such irritating subject matter.
Sincererly yours,

WHY are the comments running backwards? This is irritating as hell. Please, Matt, put the comments running from top to bottom again.

The absolutely annoying comments thing runs backward if you are not logged- in and the proper way if you are (which, I guess, katcon and wycked1 know, because they had to log-in to comment, so I'll stop now...)

I AGREE WITH TMP 1966!!! WHO THE HELL CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Am I being too polite here, will the "F" word be a better word choice here????
Paris' news is old news. Get over it and get a life. However, I would like to know if she was really treated royally over the others. If yes, then we NEED to fire some people in our law and justice systems.
As to answer your question about Paris receiving special treatment, you can bet your sweet A$$ she was!!!!!!
Again, read and re-read the first paragraph of my reply as many times as you wish.
Any other questions?

So What!
Who really cares. She did serve the time. Believe me, it's no fun to be in jail for that length of time.

So the people that let her out after about 48 hours in jail gave her special treatment when the judge ordered her go back? I'm shocked! First they ignore the judges authority and then they ignore the judges authority.

curluplw, when I logged in, the comments were still running backwards. I had to go to My Settings to change it back to the way it was before. For me logging in doesn't change it back to the old way!
