Oopsy, Daisy: Will CBS Air Jessica Simpson's Meltdown?

Intending to honor Dolly Parton at Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors with a rendition of "Nine to Five," Jessica Simpson instead let butterflies get the best of her and flubbed her take on the tune, then rushed off the stage and later was seen in tears. "Jessica was overcome with emotion... because she's idolized Dolly her whole life," her publicist tells the New York Post's Page Six. "[She] wanted the song to be perfect." The big question: will the TV audience lay witness to the odd number when the event is broadcast on Dec. 26? Alas, CBS will likely edit out the meltdown, ventures the Post. Still, you have to give Jess props for being the biggest boob at a Dolly tribute.

What's the big deal? She just got all choke up. I would have choke up too if I had performed for a idol. The gossip magazines make a big deal out of everything!!! sheezz

You mean when you make a (over paid)living as a singer, you actually have to know the words to the song and maintain your composure? You can't just giggle, bat your eyelashes and be cute? Who'd a thunk it?

Inside Edition reported that Jess sang the song again, minus the flubs and nerves, when the audience left... and that's the one that will air.

Guess she should be glad it wasn't SNL...

Is it me or are the Simpson gals just not ready to be performing yet? They can't seem to be able to perform correctly or straight-faced at all.

Did Jessica make a little dance move to issue herself off the stage?

Wasn't she singing with Carrie Underwood? I guess Carrie didn't have any probs.

Jess is a professional singer. I guess we expect them to be perfect at all times, but it seems they get nervous too.

So, Jessica has a "do over" button to use. Must be nice. Why she was even there to begin with is what I can't understand. Why give her a 2nd chance? Just delete the whole thing and call it good.

As to being "giddy" about performing (?!) in front of your IDOL, would have been nice if she had rehearsed FIRST before she went on stage in front of everyone. Kinda get the jitters out of the way. Jeez......

If I can get an intelligible question out when sitting inches from ScarJo, Jess can sing to Dolly Parton.

IT IS MY HONEST OPINION THAT CBS SHOULD AIR JESSICA SIMPSON AS IT IS. JESSICA PROVED THAT SHE A HUMAN BEING WHO BECOMES EMOTIONAL AND NERVOUS WHEN SHE IS IN THE PRESENCE OF SOMEONE WHOM SHE ADMIRES. MORE POWER TO JESSICA! BESIDES WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN HER IN ALMOST EVERY NEWS PROGRAM. WE LOVE HER WITH ALL HER IMPERFECTIONS.

This reminds me of one of Jessica's best live performances ever. It was her singing "I Wanna Love You Forever" at either the Latin Grammys of Latin Billboard Awards and her voice was strained. She was basically losing her voice, but sang the entire song, belted it out and was in tears at the end of the performance.

I think she had a standing ovation. It was amazing.

I only wish Jessica would sing ballads again, without all that "breathy-ness." She is a powerful singer, but her last two albums do not show it at all.

They should have had Reba sing!!

And too bad for Jessica, I feel bad for her....yeah, she may be ditzy, but it's a lot of pressure to perform for someone you've idolized your entire life.
