Nicole Richie Talks to Diane Sawyer About Pregnancy

Or so The Simple Life simpleton tells Diane Sawyer on Good Morning, America in an interview to air tomorrow and Friday. "I'm almost four months," she adds, noting that boyfriend Joel Madden of Good Charlotte is the babydaddy.

As for the four-day jail sentence she received after pleading guilty to DUI last week, she says, "If I could personally apologize to every single person that has lost a loved one from drunk driving, I would. Unfortunately I can't, but this is my way of paying my dues and taking responsibility and being an adult."

It certainly beats her original statement that she wasn't plastered, merely high on pot and prescription drugs. Does that count as "growth"?

She's making an effort here, unlike Britney as per your previous post. Maybe this baby will help her keep to the straight and narrow. She was never as bad as some of the others, so I think there's hope. Time will, of course, tell, but this is a good first step.

How very sad that Ms. Richie cannot apologize to all the families who have lost loved ones to drunk drivers. Let's hope and pray she won't have a lifetime to apologize to her baby should the child be born with fetal alcohol syndrome and/or problems due to drug use. Nice to know she's a responsible adult.

Good for her and congrats on the baby, but how long will Joel stick around(LOL)? Hmmm... I haven't always been a fan of Nicole's, but she seems a lot smarter and less annoying then that damn Paris Hilton.

It is a mature move on her behalf but still no forgiveness. She drove the damn car whilst high on the wrong side of the highway potentially endangering many, plus she contributed in inflicting that horrid travesty aka The Simple Life on to the public.

As for her procreating, God save us all. Though in a way it's a miracle she can considering her lifestyle and in result, her body (or lack of).

I have to ask: Who IS this person? What has she ever done? Why is Diane Sawyer interviewing her?

Okay, she's Lionel Ritchie's daughter and Paris Hilton's friend (sometimes)--which is the only reason she ended up on "The Simple Life" in the first place. But she apparently has accomplished even less in her life than Hilton--which I didn't think would be possible--and yet she has become a household name. This kind of thing drives me nuts.

There are people in this world doing things that really matter, like building homes for the homeless, or finding cures for diseases, or negotiating peace treaties, but we never hear about them. THEY should be the celebrities. Why is this untalented, spoiled pipsqueak getting attention?
Shame on Diane Sawyer for even agreeing to conduct the interview, or thinking that it was worthy of air time--or our time.

I remember when Diane Sawyer used to sit down to interview heads of state and religious leaders as well as Oscar, Nobel, Pulizter and Tony winners.

Now she's interviewing an overexposed celebutante who cannot act, sing, lead, speak English properly, behave, drive, dance or even stand up straight.

Our country is mired in a war the media has chosen to ignore in favor of pursuing the latest celebrity interview.

What a mad, mad world.
