This week on Mitovich Mega Minute: Get you NCIS scoopage on the new team and some familiar faces from episodes past. Plus: The kiddies on Gossip Girl aren't the only ones with the spicy hot love lives. Find out who else will be seeing some action come Season 2!
I'm hoping that one of the "not-new, new" team members on NCIS is Agent Nikki Jardin (played by Susan Kelechi), the agent with the germ phobia and the brother who is in a coma from injuries sustained in Iraq.
For the record, I'm also hoping for the return of Hollis Mann (played by Susanna Thompson) and Jeanne Benoit (played by Scottie Thompson) to somehow reconnect as love interests for Gibbs and Tony, respectively. I know both are long shots, but a guy can dream, can't he?
I'm at work so I can't listen to the gossip. Someone please tell me what's in it for NCIS. Also, I missed the season finale. (horrible I know) What happened? Did Tony and Jeanne break up?
plbible: "Someone please tell me what's in it for NCIS. Also, I missed the season finale. (horrible I know) What happened? Did Tony and Jeanne break up?"
Well, since you missed the finale--Jenny was killed off--they got her killers; Jeanne and Tony broke up a few episodes BEFORE the finale and good riddance, if you ask me. She lied to NCIS and told them that it was Tony who shot and killed her father, when it was the CIA spook, Cole. Personally, I think it was Jenny who killed the Frog.
Unlike Rod, I DON'T want Hollis coming back. blech. Could.NOT.Stand.Her.
Anyhoo, so because of Jenny's death, we have a new director, Leon "Smarmy" Vance--who is shady, to say the least. He broke up Gibbs team. Gibbs will get a new one, for a little bit, in the new season.
This mega minute didn't tell us anything we didn't already know. MVM just hinted that "new" in Gibbs' new team, didn't mean that the new folks are "new" to the show, if that makes sense.
Matt are you gonna tell us that someone from Gibbs' team won't make through the first episode of the new season. No mention of if it's his old team or new team....
Jeanne didn't lie to NCIS about Tony, she (and they for a period of time) thought Tony really did it.
i'm dying for damages!!! its way too far away...ugh! oh well, the news of timothy (though not new) is the best news i've heard all summer. yeah i was literally jumping up & down when i told my hubs about it. sooo happy i'll get to see him on my big screen tv regularly. he's brilliant & so yummy!!!
Summary of non-NCIS scoop for hearing/technology impaired (may be wrong/incomplete):
The NCIS scoop was already covered in Geets226's post above.
Gossip Girl: Rufus is dating "a looker from Brooklyn" early in Season 2.
Damages: Paige Turco (formerly of All My Children, Party of Five and another more recent series whose name I can't remember now) will play William Hurt's wife in the new season, which won't start until early 2009. William Hurt will be Patty's nemesis in the new season. Apparently, Paige never thanked Matt for the roses he sent her 17 years ago.
I don't want Jeanne or Col. Mann back either; I think we've seen enough of both and enough romance.
Who thinks Mike Frank could come back for a while, to "help" Gibbs and work on whatever secret Jenny told him before dying.
And how about Fornell for director ! I would love it; I really love the FBI agent and we have been seeing less of him this last season. I think he would be great as director and his interaction with Gibbs would be quite entertaining !
Sangeeta, thanks for the NCIS information. I have a baby girl so most of the time I've been too busy getting her to sleep during NCIS. However, I have been watching NCIS on USA Network on the weekends.
I'm sure Agent Jardin will be one of the "new" team members. I'd also think there is a possibility that Agent Michelle Lee (played by Liza Lapira), the Agent Jimmy was dating, could be another one of the "new" team members.
Technically Jeanne and Tony broke up on the first or second episode of the season. When Tony decided to not leave with her. Now the storyline at the end of the season brought back up his feelings for her, but it wasn't as if they were still together at the time.
gwilliams: "I'd also think there is a possibility that Agent Michelle Lee (played by Liza Lapira), the Agent Jimmy was dating, could be another one of the "new" team members."
Bite your tongue! Except for that one episode where Lee went undercover, she was a waste of space. Ugh.
And, not that I think this would happen, but it would be a riot if Agent BlackAdder (from the JAG episodes when we were introduced to Gibbs and his team) was put back on Gibbs team. Remember, she totally screwed up the op to get Ben Atwa. I still remember the last two lines of that episode ("Meltdown"):
BlackAdder: I almost blew it."
Gibbs: "ALMOST?" meaning there was no 'almost' about it--she did blow it by staring at the terrorist they were surveilling.
Then you see Gibbs tear off the cap he was wearing, stone-face expression as the episode ends. SIGH...
The only original members of his team that made it to the pilot in September of that year was Michael Weatherly, Pauly Perrette and David McCallum. I can't remember what Mark Harmon said in the special features of the DVD, explaining why Robyn Lively didn't come on board.
Too bad they killed Cassidy. I could see her on Gibbs' "new" team.
If Judith Light can work on Ugly Betty AND Law & Order: SVU, then Alan Dale can reprise his role as Director, and say the Homeland Security gig wasn't his cuppa.
I am not so excited about Jardine possibly being a part of the team; every time she was on screen she irritated me. I figured that she would most likely be one of the new team members, though.
While I wouldn't like Jeanne back, as I think they closed that situation the last time she was on the show, I would like Hollis Mann back at some point. Of course, I know that a huge portion of the fans hated her, so I'm not expecting anything.
I'm going to sit back and enjoy the journey that Shane Brennan and Company have in story for us. With the team being split up, I'm certain that Mark, Michael, Sean, Cote, David, Pauley and Brian will enjoy doing something different with their characters.
I don't want to know in advance who the "newbies" are until the Season Premiere and hope I can avoid finding out.
Whoever the "new" team members are, I'll enjoy watching Gibbs with them and enjoy seeing how Tony, Tim and Ziva "come home."
Oh, and I know I'm in the vast minority among people who post on the show, but I'd love to see a happy ending for Tony and Jeanne one day. Michael and Scottie had incredible screen chemistry.
The show just won't be the same. It's one thing to replace one person - to replace the whole team is just plain stupid. I hope there is some kind of twist to this story that puts the old team back in place. This is one of the few shows that I watch so it's disheartening to have it messed with.
