NBC has, yes, picked up Heroes for a third season. (No shocker there.) But the network has also ordered second, 13-episode seasons of both Chuck and Life, says the Reporter.

Heroes, meanwhile, will air more than 22 episodes (the exact number is TBD) when it returns. None of the three shows will air new fare this spring.

Speaking of TV's post-strike "spring awakening," check our Strike Watch blog for a roundup of NBC's plans for its Thursday-night lineup.

I will dearly miss Heroes and Chuck until this fall, but I'm so thrilled that we'll get Round 2 with the accidental spy.

Yes! The more Chuck, the better. I just wish it was coming back this spring.

While I am happy for Chuck and Life, I hate that Friday Night Lights is still in limbo. I need FNL to come back next season..

My wife left me a valentine knock knock today... who's there?
Olive.
Olive who?
Olive you.

I took this as a wink to 'pushing daisies' - or for 'Olive, the Other Reindeer', another odd favorite of ours.
(we have also been teaching- and explaining K-K jokes to the young arab girls next door. They started telling them, but seemed to have no idea what they were about at their age)

I am excited that Chuck and Life were renewed. They are two of my favorite new shows.

Supersized Heros is just a bonus.

Heroes was so fatuous in its second season, the last thing it needs is to dilute itself with more episodes in season 3!

Yay for Chuck!

Those are 3 of my NBC favorites. I am still holding my breath waiting for Season 3 nod to my beloved FNL. C'mom, Ben, make it happen please.

I'm so happy Life is coming back. It isn't your average cop show.

Man, I am truly psyched about Life coming back! You never know what's going to happen on that show, from one minute to the next, and I love that! The first show to really gain my interest in a while. Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews is my favorite detective since Andy Sipowicz. Those last two episodes were some of the best television I've seen in a while. The music they use is always dead on for the scenes its paired with. I'm also a fan of Chuck, which is, of course, much more lighthearted than Life. I like that most about it, actually. Great choices for renewals on NBC's part! :)

Hurray for Chuck! I love this show. One question though: why only 13 episodes? Isn't that 1/2 of a full season? Are they wanting to confirm that they didn't lose their fanbase b/c of the strike?

I'm not sure if it's my imagination but it seems networks are ordering 1/2 seasons more often than they did in the past.
