Naughty Knifeplay May Cut Short Lohan Pal's "Career"
Risqué photos published by X17 and showing a "dazed"-looking (imagine!) Lindsay Lohan cavorting with a knife and a mystery brunette could cut short the esteemed career of the latter lass, who has since been identified as Vanessa Minnillo — aka the former host of TRL and ongoing gf of Nick Lachey. Minnillo's appearance in the pics follows unflattering talk that while wielding a mic for ET, she "was extremely high maintenance," as a source tells the New York Post's Page Six. "Vanessa wants to be a celebrity, not interview them. She wouldn't conduct post-[Grammys] interviews because she wanted to party," and thus irked her bosses to the point that she wasn't asked to cover the Oscars.
A rep for Minnillo insists to the Post, "[Vanessa] chose to leave ET because her contract expired. This is the first I've heard of any bad behavior."
POLL: Whose mom is better, Lindsay's or Paris Hilton's? Vote here.

I have no pity for Minnillo. Anyone who cares anything for their career would not be in the same time zone as Lindsay Lohan. And letting that nutcase hold a knife to her throat? Please. I'm thinking that if her "career" tanks, she pretty much deserves what she gets. And really, in this world of MySpace infamy and instant YouTubing, don't you think she would have thought twice about letting someone take pictures of her idiocy?

I heard that she is very demanding. Her contracts weren't renewed because of her demands. That's all just from gossip columns though, so who knows how she is.
All I know is that she is not famous or talented enough to be high maintenence. She seems like the kind of girl that would have a hell of a lot worse things hiding out there! She seems like someone that knows she has to do anything it takes to be famous because I am sure she has realized that she has no talent.

If she expects to be taken seriously as an entertainment reporter (or as seriously as these people can be taken), she can't be out partying with the people she's supposed to be reporting on. How can these reporters have any credibility or objectivity when they are hanging out and boozing it up with the celebrities they are supposed to be covering?

Matt,
Okay, I realize that this is completely unrelated, but I was wondering if there was any way to find out how FNL is doing on Sundays. I guess in the summer no one cares how things are rating, but I was hoping to get a clue, or be directed to one.
Oh yeah, and anyone that is a "celebrity" and does something stupid in the presence of anyone else, even "loves of the moment", makes me think they are just trying to get their name out there in any way possible. There is no such thing as bad publicity, right?

Another case of: You can't buy class, and beauty only goes so far. Vanessa, like anyone else, is entitled to do what she pleases in her spare time, but as someone in the public eye with a boyfriend just as much so, she should have known much better. A very unwise move on her part. While she probably won't fall totally flat on her face career-wise, she likely won't be all that successful or respected either.

I've thought Minnillo was an shallow twit ever since she did the "Ugly Vanessa" reports on ET last fall--they put her in a fat suit and a frowsy wig to send her out into the NYC streets, and she proceeded to burst into tears when she caught sight of herself in the mirror. Couldn't stand the thought of being less-than-gorgeous for even one second...

Vanessa does just want to BE a celebrity - that's why she's dating Nick. Jessica Simpson wasn't able to be a celeb through singing and used her relationship with Nick to propel her into the spotlight. Vanessa is doing the same thing! That man needs to look beyond the boobs and find a girl who doesn't just want to be famous.

This whole discussion reminds me of the line from "Gypsy" - "Having no talent isn't enough. It takes more than no talent to be a stripper!"
With the possible exception of Lohan, who can actually act when she isn't cracked out and/or being a hot mess, most of these professional hoochies have no talent but a fierce gimmick (usually, wearing undergarments as clothing, if they wear undergarments at all).
