At the Movies: Good Night for House's Hugh Laurie
Per Variety, Hugh Laurie and Chris Evans (Fantastic Four) are set to play internal affairs agents in Night Watch, a James Ellroy-penned crime drama about a downward-spiraling cop (Keanu Reeves) framed by his onetime mentor (Forest Whitaker).... Speaking of House, imminent guest star Piper Perabo is heading South of the Border for a live-action Disney pic about a Beverly Hills chihuahua lost in Mexico.... Aussie Luke Ford, 26, is Brendan Fraser's son (ouch...) — and the franchise's heir apparent — in the third Mummy movie.... Peter Jackson is shopping his spec script for an adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones.... Per Variety, Blade II's Luke Goss has gone bad again, playing a ruthless prince in Hellboy 2: The Golden Army.

Have they cast the role of the Chihuahua yet? My Chihuahua would totally rock that role.

NO NO NO NO! What is Hugh Laurie thinking? An amazing actor like Laurie should not be wasting his time with a shallow incompetent like Evans? Laurie should be working with the big guns, not wasting screen time with a horrible actor. Sigh.

I agree, ianjball! I was actually thinking he shouldn't be playing second banana to Keanu Reeves, either. He deserves better

The thing that enrages me most is Laurie is a hard-core veteran playing a complex role as an irascible and tormented doctor. Evans has spent his career in tv cameos and his only big credits to date are a cheesy cartoon with fantastic four and a cheesy suspense thriller cellular. It's ridiculous to pair a seasoned actor the caliber of Laurie who is at the peak of his career with some young primadonna who will never be a great actor. I would rank Laurie as right up there with legends like Michael Douglas, Jack Nicholson, and Al Pacino. Laurie deserves to be working with people like those men, not a third-rate wannabe who has failed to earn his stripes.

I'm sure no one put a gun to Hugh's head when he agreed to do the movie. Forest Whitaker, Oscar winner, is also in the film.
