Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana Tour Together

070809mileycyrus.jpg
Miley Cyrus in Hannah Montana by Rick Rowell/Disney Channel
Super-wholesome teen queen Miley Cyrus is taking her act on the road with the "Best of Both Worlds," a 54-date tour launching Oct. 18 in St. Louis and in which she will perform both as herself and as her Hannah Montana alter ego. Cyrus will open each concert with tracks from the two Hannah CDs, then finish up the night with songs from her solo album, Meet Miley Cyrus. Tickets go on sale Aug. 18, with a buck from each ducat getting donated to City of Hope.

Keep an eye on the gossip columns when the tour rolls around, because sources tell me Miley and Hannah do not get along at all. Expect fireworks.

Will the madness never end! I have had to take my daughter to the Cheetah Girls, High School Musical and Corbin Blue/Aly & AJ Concerts all in this past year. Disney is slowly driving me to the brink of insanity.

See now that's your fault! Couldn't bribe her with anything else? I so feel your pain.

Yeah they do, but I bet that they're regretting some of their past Disney-ers.

OR - you could just say no and not take her ;)

Good for her. At least these Disney singers are shows I would take my kids to see. Much better role models than all the you-know-who's out there right now.

Please don't say their names. And did you know that Raven Symone made 400 mil in the past year? But much of us wouldn't know about it because she's not skanky enough to fit the bill of newsworthy whores.

I live in the UK and my Wife, 6 year old daughter and myself were in Disneyworld last year on holiday. We could not move her from the daily HSM pep rally, and spent a fortune on merchandise for HSM and Hannah Montanna. I know that my daughter would crawl over all her disney dvd's for a chance to see either concert. In fact she has just mugged me for tickets to HSM the ice tour next January, but you do know what she is seeing when she watches a disney show.

Could be worse, it could be the Mini Pops! My poor parents who had to listen to them!

I agree with Senac completly. It's better to have your younger kids see these types of concerts than taking them to see something that includes bumping and grinding, and a rubber ducky just to keep it PG-13.

Actually I enjoy' Hannah Montana'. I think that Emily Osment is an awesome slapstick artist in the same vein as Lucille Ball. She and Miley Cyrus are seriously channeling 'Lucy and Ethel' in most of those shows. I have always appreciated Disney programmings commitment to show their pre-teen and teen characters having good relationships with their parents. They did this with Lizzie McGuire, the Cheetah Girls, Suite Life, Johnny Tsunami, Even Stevens etc. My grump about Disney is that they run the same episodes over and over and over. And I WILL be taking my daughter to see Miley Cyrus in concert. I draw the line at the clothing/toy merchandise however.

One glaring bad apple in the former Disney-er basket is, I suppose, to be expected. But, for the most part, former Disney kids have gone on to good careers with a minimum of scandal. Shia LeBeouf, Hilary Duff, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Raven Symone, Nick Spano and Christy Carlson-Romano were good examples as youths and seem to be keeping their acts together as adults.

While I think the toys and clothing are sometimes over the top, our kids and grandkids could do a lot worse than look up to these young performers. I certainly wouldn't want them watching South Park.

(Wycked1, I love your line about a rubber ducky thrown in to keep something PG-13. So true.) :-D

I haven't heard of anything so madcap since that Brady Bunch episode where Peter ran back and forth between two dates on Halloween!
