Michael Jackson to Show His Face at Grammys?

Grammy Awards producer Ken Ehrlich on Sunday wants to mark the (feel old alert!) 25th anniversary of Thriller, but he's having some trouble getting Michael Jackson to fully participate. According to the New York Daily News, Ehrlich hoped to stage a musical revue featuring Jacko as well as several guest artists from the album's star-studded Feb. 12 rerelease. MJ, though, "can't go along with that," says a source. "He needs more time to rehearse new versions of the songs [and] new choreography."

Instead, Ehrlich is said to have settled for having Jackson merely appear on stage, giving fans their first good look at the always-interesting-to-look-at singer in a while. Jacko, meanwhile, is said to be saving his next song-and-dance for a money-making TV special/concert series.

They also re-released it in 2003 for its 20th anniversary. I'm looking at the cd right now.

Maybe it's best that he doesn't show. I really can't connect Michael Jackson who gave us Off the Wall and Thriller with the person I see now. I'd rather they stayed separate.

As much as I love and respect the Michael Jackson of the past, he needs to give it up now. As ctheslayer said, I'd rather the two "people" stay separate and let me keep my good memories of the old MJ intact.

I don't care if he's just going to stand on stage. But, performing would have been another thing. I'm going to be right in line to purchase the re-release next week and it would have been awesome to see him perform some of the new versions. Say what you want about MJ - but Thriller is a classic and I'd love to see him perform anything from it.

I would love to see Michael Jackson perform as well- if he still could. As evidenced by the few performances he has done in recent years, I don't think he is.

Well if he does perform at least this time he won't need makeup to look like one of the Zombies.

The question is, which face is he going to show? He has so many, you know.

I just remember how dazed and confused he was on the Grammy's or AMA's a few years ago. Was he just having an off night or does he have any grasp on reality anymore? And I'm not saying this to be mean - it's out of concern.

I really don't care if he shows up or not. However I still would like to see the old Micheal...the one that I wanted to marry but I know that can't happen. Im just amazed that he and I have the same hair style and his looks much better than mine.

I would also like to see Michael Jackson perform. I miss the Michael from the 80s and I need to know he still has it...I will also buy the CD, my original Thriller was an album, who knows where that is now!!

The 20th anniversary Thriller cd I bought in 03 had rough takes of Billy Jean where MJ was just playing around in the studio and making up words off the top of his head, previously unreleased tracks, and Vincent Price's entire original, dry v/o for Thriller. I wonder if they are going to repackage that one or add more features?
