Have you missed Crockett? I know! Who hasn't? Well, my friend, it's time to take off those pesky socks, dust off your Jan Hammer CD, and brush up on your jai alai, because full episodes of Miami Vice and several other classic NBC series will soon be available for streaming on the Internetz. Fo' realz!
NBC has announced a venture that, starting today and rolling out this month, will upload many of your favorite shows from the tube's days of yore, including The A-Team, Kojak, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and the original Battlestar Galactica, to a host of NBC-owned websites (including NBC.com, SciFi.com, ChillerTV.com and SleuthChannel.com). Clearly I'm a Vice fan, but which series will you check out online? — Mickey O'Connor
Use our nifty Online Video Guide to search for clips as well as entire episodes of your favorite television shows, both past and present. The OVG can also help you quickly find full episodes of all the aforementioned shows, including Miami Vice, The A-Team, and the original Battlestar Galactica.

This was already posted in the community blogs yesterday.
Most of these 'classic' shows I have never heard of and I've only seen a little bit of one of them.
They should stream friends.

...but which series will you check out online?
It's hard to say without seeing the full list, but of those mentioned, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour is the most interesting to me. And maybe a little Vice.
However, this could emphasize just how little classic--or future classic--programming NBC has right now. In 20-30 years, does anybody really think that people will be clamoring to see Deal or No Deal or American Gladiators online?

I hope not. That's a scary thought.
And the full list of shows is listed in the community blogs.

Of the ones mentioned, none. I have no desire to watch old shows from the 80's. They were good then but so darn cheesy now. The only 1 I watched on your list was The A-Team, I hated Miami Vice as a kid. I say this stuff because there are only a few select shows I ever watch in repeats and those I already own.

Thanks, Leah. OK, I might watch Simon & Simon and Night Gallery online, too.

This is great! But hearing all these comments makes me feel old.
Slight correction -- Wasn't Kojak a CBS show?

This sounds like a wonderful idea, for the Americans. I don't know about all the sites mentioned, but on the NBC site, you have to be in the US to view, no fair to us neighbours up north. I really enjoy all the outlets they're using now to bring back the old shows, but if only some of them were a little more friendly for us Canadians.

Yeah, that doesn't make sense to me. If you guys can get them on broadcast tv, why not on the internet too?

I'm looking forward to The Alfred Hitchcock Hour and Night Gallery. Yes, I'm showing my age--I watched them when they were originally aired.
