Robin Sparkles' Latest Hit "Leaks" onto the Internet
Back in 2006, it was revealed that Sparkles is the stage name of How I Met Your Mother's Robin Scherbatsky (Cobie Smulders), who apparently was briefly a teen pop star in Canada. The video for her minor hit "Let's Go to the Mall" became a viral sensation, prompting the show's producers to pen a B-side ballad.
"Sandcastles in the Sand" is currently streaming audio at Variety.com, while a clip from the music video is available below. The full vid goes online following the April 21 Mother, which features guest spots by James Van Der Beek, Alan Thicke and former teen popstress Tiffany (who will surely rock your body 'till Canada Day). Warning: The song is made of crack cocaine, and will be stuck in your head all day.
What's your favorite lyric? Are you as all aboot Ms. Sparkles as we are? — Mickey O'Connor

I loved Slapbet/Robin Sparkles more than anything, but I have to wonder about this. Part of the awesomeness of Slapbet was the reveal at the end. I think I'll stay away from any of these clips and wait until the episode airs to hear/see it.

I think I'll wait to see it on the show itself. "Let's Go To The Mall" would have lost its sparkle if viewed ahead of time and I think this might as well. I'd rather see it in the context of the show.
Then I'll probably watch it online until I go insane.

I love all the lyrics that she whispers but I can't love the song until I see the video associated with it. That was 90% of what made the original song great.

ITA, Adam. The song alone is "OK," but I need to see her tell Van Der Beek, "You're so rad" and "Let's go all the way."
But yes, Mickey, the song is crack, and has been stuck in my head all morning.

That is the funniest, and most stupid song I've ever heard. I'm sure that's what they shooting for.

The song isn't as funny as "Let's Go to the Mall", but it is quite humorous.
You can follow the link and hear the song without seeing the video. It won't ruin the episode. It would be better than expecting something that would blow the first song out of the water and then getting disappointed when you see the show. In fact, hearing the song first might make the video on the show even funnier.

So funny! My favorite lyrics are at the end, when she's cooing, "I'm on the pill now...let's go all the way," and "I'm soary," or sorry, in her Canadian accent. Can't wait to see the video!

OK, having now watched the clip (thanks, mandersme!), I have to put "We'll travel the globe... from Alberta to Ontario" — with the little van traveling two inches across a map — among Sparkles' best-ever lyrics.
PS. Is there really a Canada Today newspaper?

The Sparkles story line is one of the best on the show. And this video clip has served to wet my appetite, not ruin the upcoming episode. It is especially funny if you have seen Van Der Beek's cameo in "Music and Lyrics".

No Matt, there is no "Canada Today" newspaper.
Funny song, can't wait for the episode!

As a Canadian, I have to say I'm offended (sorry...or should I say soary) that you used the stereotypical word "aboot", but grateful that youse guys recognize that we exist.
