Medium's Big on Oscar Winner Anjelica Huston

Academy Award winner Anjelica Huston has been tapped to visit Medium during the NBC drama's fourth season, playing an investigator for a firm called Ameritips who strikes an unusual bargain with Allison. "When we decided to embark on a six-episode arc involving a formidable female character, the challenge was to find an actress who could hold the screen with Patricia [Arquette] while creating sparks of her own," series creator Glenn Gordon Caron explains to the Hollywood Reporter. "I couldn't be more excited or more inspired [to have Huston in the role]. The idea of writing for two such extraordinary actresses... is exactly the kind of creative kick in the ass we relish on Medium."

Sounds like Medium is sizing up a 2008 guest-actress Emmy.

I am curious... what night will Medium be on? I looked on NBC's site & it is not on the fall schedule!!

It's probably going to start later (like January maybe). Didn't they do that last season too?

If Anjelica joins THE MEDIUM, I'll start watching it; it's rather "whiney" and boring as it is!

I join in the curiosity about when Medium is going to be on. Friends tell me I should watch it, but I can't find it.

It starts in January. Sundays at 9pm after Football ends. I'm worried though. This is exactly what NBC did to Crossing Jordan last season and killed it. I'm praying Medium stays on for at least a few more years.

Originally I had heard Medium was getting cancelled and was shocked. Then I heard they were saving it as a mid-season replacement for all the new shows that are going to bomb this year, and there will be plenty. I wish the networks would leave good shows like Medium, Jericho, etc alone, they have built up a good fan base but because it doesn't get the ratings the networks want they figure the show is bad, it's not the show, it's the network and where they place the show in the time slot. This new addition of Ms. Huston will hopefully bump up the ratings even higher. I have watched Medium from the first episode and will be sad when it finally reaches it run. At least when they do cancel the show I hope they at least do a series finale instead of leaving you hanging. I also heard this might be the final season of Monk because Tony is getting tired of playing Mr. Monk and wants to move on. So many good shows out there are losing out to shows that are going to stink, this upcoming season doesn't look to promising for me, at least there are good shows that are on off network channels like Sci-Fi, USA, and A&E to name a few.

Medium is a terrific show and everyone should watch it regardless of the guest stars, but if that gets you to tune in the first time, so be it!

You can catch Medium on the Lifetime Channel at 11 PM CST on Saturday nights. NBC has been sporadically running repeats on Saturdays at 9 PM CST. Unfortunately, NBC reportedly is not scheduling Medium until Sundays in January after the football season is over. I am hoping they put it on way before then - back on Mondays at 9 PM where it belongs.

NBC does very little in way of promotion of Medium which is a shame because Medium has a ridiculously talented cast in Patricia Arquette, David Cubitt, Miguel Sandoval, Jake Weber, Sofia Vassileava, Maria Lark, and the Carabello twins.

NBC is slowly killing one of their best shows. They should have it air in the fall. Medium has some of the most consistently solid writing, IMO. It would be a shame to see it go down the tubes.

Anyway, it it nice to finally see some Medium scoop. It has been awhile! This show seems to get overlooked for whatever reason.
