Marie Osmond to Get People Talking (On Purpose)

As rumored last month shortly after her memorable Dancing with the Stars run came to an end, Marie Osmond has inked a deal to front her own daytime talker called "Dolores." (Oh, I kid — it's called Marie.)

Slated to bow in fall 2009 and tape five days a week in a city to be determined, the syndicated show promises a "feel-good" experience, Osmond said in announcing the deal at this week's NATPE confab. "[I want to] make it something I feel passionate about. Not to be homogenized."

Do we really need more daytime talk shows? I'm so glad I'm not home during the day. Between talk shows and court shows, I'd be driven crazy.

Does anyone remember her last time as a talk show host? From what I remember, it wasn't very good. They did have the Dixie Chicks on once, that was good.

This sounds like it will make Megan Mullaley's show seem like Carson Era Tonight Show.

Marie the next new Ellen or Oprah? Doubt it. I can see her doing well regionally, not nationally.

I was a fan of hers but then I OD'd on her during DWTS. I just might like her again in 1.5 years.

I thought she had already done a talk show and it was canceled.

I give it three episodes before it's canceled.

Good grief ... she certainly is riding that 15 minutes of fame!

Can't she just go away already???

I agree with you jujube11, 3 episodes or a month at least before it's canceled.

deeannak, I'm with you-I distinctly remember a osmond daytime tv show...if it didn't work then, why will it work now?

But whatevs, she doesn't bother me, and I don't have time to watch the talk shows I do like, let alone extraneous weird ones.

Who in the world would actually watch her. It was a disgrace that she was kept on DWTS while good dancers were eliminated. That doll costume was ridiculous.I have stopped watching Entertainment tonight because of Donnie. Don't they know when to quit.

OMG no-no-no...I'm so sick of Donnie & Marie-I switch off the entertainment show when he comes on-he made it the Marie segment everytime when she was on DWTS..I grew up watching them but that period of time got me sick of them!..thank goodness we have hundreds of stations to now watch and we don;t even have to turn her show on-growing up in Chgo. we had channels 2-5-7-9...what a change !

It will never happen, but it would be nice and GREAT if she'd knock OPRAH out of the water.

The Oprah machine needs to be stopped. Oprah's all about "Oprah" and enough is enough.

I feared this this would happen as I watched her gaining confidence with every round she cleared in the celebrity dance-off. She must feed the beast!
