Madonna May "Tell" NBC to Stuff It

Now that NBC has gone public with its wishy-washiness over whether to include the "Live to Tell"/mock-crucifixion number in its Madonna concert special, word is that the Material Girl may elect to nix the telecast in its entirety. The New York Daily News reports that Madonna's peeps, if asked to cut the provocative sequence, are prepared to pull the November special, as each side is contractually allowed to should the final product not meet with their approval.

So? Then let the skank pull out, and make room for something decent to watch!

I'm glad Madonna is sticking to her guns. I think if NBC gives in to these groups, they should lose the concert all-together. If these eggheads would watch the performance, they would see that she is not 'mocking' Christianity at all. She is actually reminding us that Jesus would want us to help our neighbor. But of course, groups like these would rather judge then see for themselves.

Being a kabbalist, maybe she found out that crucifiction does not JUST signify Jesus. Many people were crucufied, Jesus was just the most famous.

I agree with the first person who posted! Send her elsewhere and air something decent for a change! And her reference to the Bible saying about picking up your cross, etc., does she not read and understand? It doesn't mean to literally go out and put yourself on a cross -- it means to humble yourself, try to put yourself in his position (not literally) to follow him. I would take serious offense to seeing such a display on TV and I know my child, nor I as an adult, will ever watch Madonna or listen to her. And if NBC decides to go ahead with this show of hers, then they can forget me as well.

I love it when people get all worked up by Madonna, especially when they're so uninformed. Crimany. If you haven't seen the show you really have no right to speak responsibly about the set in question. Your children could learn a thing or two about compassion from Madonna. The act was designed to encourage fans to give more money to AIDS charities. She sings with great sadness about friends she's lost to AIDS as images of African AIDS victims flashed by on a screen behind her. I don't think even Jesus would fault her for bringing attention to the horrors of the AIDS pandemic.
