Madonna: "I Have Nothing to Do with" A-Rod's Divorce

Madonna has stepped up to the plate to hopefully knock out of the park rumblings that she has been rounding the bases with New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, to the detriment of each of their marriages. "My husband [director Guy Ritchie] and I are not planning on getting a divorce," the Material Woman of a Certain Age tells People. Explaining her connection with the Yanks' third-baseman, she adds, "I know Alex Rodriguez through Guy Oseary, who manages both of us. I brought my kids to a Yankee game. I am not romantically involved in any way with Alex Rodriguez. I have nothing to do with the state of his marriage or what spiritual path he may choose to study.”

A-Rod's wife Cynthia, who has revealed her plan to file for divorce (citing "irreconcilable differences" and emotional abandonment), reportedly has been telling friends that his closeness with Madge caused a final rift in their already tenuous union. In fact, the divorce action will cite his relationship with Madonna as but "the latest situation in a series of events" crippling their marriage. — Matt Mitovich

What's with the illiterate screamers?

ARod could have just about any woman, why would he be going after that old hag?

I saw a New York Post headline on Thursday that said A-Rod's wife was leaving him for a pop star! Trust the Post to print some rumor probably floated by one of their publicists. Wait ... did I just say "trust" the Post?!

Indeed, once women reach 50, all their sexual appeal just disappears. We ought to just sweep up those dusty piles of bones and do away with them! In fact, 35 seems to be the limit for considering a woman desireable, given the reluctance to release the Sex and the City movie about 40-something women. What in the world could a 40-something woman possibly have to offer? They're like, zombies! They should just stay inside and knit, or whatever old hags do.

So, A-Rod goes after Jose Canseco's sloppy seconds twenty years after the fact.

Why him (or any other celebrity) bothered getting married in the first place is something I'll never know.

I personally do not believe that at all. She has been preaching that cult, that she call's her religion all the time. She was an influence on him.
And messed him up and his marriage, with some thing she said or preached to him. And one who is going to suffer is his childern.

You mean we can blame our problems on people who talk about their religion all the time?

Tom Cruise! I blame you for my woes! It is your fault that I'm single and have a mountain of student loan debt!

And can we keep our definitions of celebrity religions of choice straight? Scientology is the cult, kabbalah is what celebrities invoke when they want to wear trendy red bracelets and ignore the religion's real history.
