Lost Star Pleads Not Guilty to DUI, Awaits "Dae" in Court

Lost cast member Daniel Dae Kim on Friday entered an initial plea of not guilty to a drunken driving charge stemming from his Oct. 25 arrest, and requested a trial date, the AP reports. Kim was not on hand for the plea, but afterward his defense attorney said, "He made an apology to the state, the people of Hawaii and his fans." Thus far, Kim's driver's license has been revoked for a period of six months.

Kim is the fourth Lostie to run up against the law out in Hawaii. Michelle Rodriguez and Cynthia Watros were both pinched in 2006 for DUI, while Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was arrested in 2006 for disobeying a police officer.

Forgive me for being sober on a Saturday afternoon (and I'm about to go for a drive, too...I guess I'll never be a star!), but where is the logic in apologizing for drunk driving to an entire state, its people and all of his fans...and then pleading NOT GUILTY??? Somebody either explain it to me or pass me the Southern Comfort, please. :_|

You all know what that means, I guess Jin is going to die in season 4.

Well, look at it this way. Since they're not working anyway due to the writers strike, maybe he can get this all taken care of in the mean time and still be alive and well on Lost.

I have a hunch that this may be job security for DDK. Carleton and Cuse were so insistent that the other DUIs had nothing to do with their plot-driven plans. If they kill him off, it would just be TOO obvious that they are doing what they've been denying for so long.

I think he is an important part of the remainder of the series, so I hope he will make it to the end. I just hope he is as sincere as he seems to be in his apologies and that he will join the millions of us who manage to drive sober 100% of the time.

(I still don't understand how he can rationalize pleading not guilty, though. That takes him down a few pegs in my estimation. I'm sure he'll survive without my undying adulation, though.) ;)

I wonder if the writers...when they finally go back to work (???)...will have the guts to kill off "Jin" as they did "Ana Lucia" and "Libby" after their DUI's.
I was one of those "love to hate Ana Lucia" peeps so it didn't bother me one bit to see her get killed off...but I was sad about Libby, who I genuinely liked. I doubt they'll kill Jin off...he's just too much a part of the original cast. But...watch out, Daniel Dae. You never know!!
