At Comic-Con, Lost Fans Find Some Scoop
Matthew Fox by Mario Perez/ABC
On Saturday at the San Diego Comic-Con, a huge crowd of Lost fans was treated to a Q&A session with the famous team of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, several knick-knacks, a few pieces of scoop and one big surprise.
To kick things off, "Darlton" handed out specific gifts to each person who asked a question. The best exchange: An uncanny Hurley look-a-like was awarded a Dharma bottle of ranch dressing.
Later, after someone posed a question about the Jack/Kate/Sawyer love triangle, the exec producers began bickering about how the action figure they were about to give the fan didn't really look like Matthew Fox. Cue the surprise entrance of... Matthew Fox! The Losties went nuts because not five minutes earlier, Darlton said the panel was only going to involve the two of them (if only because the cast is so hard to track down before they start shooting in Hawaii).
The main draw for any Lost diehard, of course, is the vague promise of scoop. As far as new intel goes, it was typically scarce. The execs revealed that Jin (who last was seen on the exploding freighter) and Locke (reclined in a coffin under the purview of "Future Jack" as the season finale faded to black) each would be back in some capacity, and that "dead is a relative term" on this show. Also, animal lovers may be pleased to know that Vincent is not only alive and well, but will make it to the end of the series!
To wrap things up, a fan came out on stage with a video camera screaming that he had "exclusive video from the Dharma booth." It was shot Blair Witch-style, and was clearly a planned part of the panel, yet the footage still was hilarious. As the tape unspooled, the scientist from the Dharma orientation films hinted that the island is 30 years behind. (The hatch music from the '70s now makes a bit more sense.) He begged anyone watching to reconstitute the Dharma Initiative, because all of the original doctors are dead. Say what?! — Erin Fox

I'll take any news I can get on Lost and am glad to read up on what was what after the tease that they were going to reveal things at Comic Con. Of course, it still doesn't tell us much, but I rather like that too.
Guess you changed "unspoiled" to "unspooled" - too bad - think that would have been a funny pun if I'd gotten to read it in your original post!!

Is it just me or are they explaining more about the show outside of the actual show? It's like "all will be revealed about the island, you just have to buy this DVD, follow the links to this hidden website, show up at Comicon, listen to this podcast, because we're not going to reveal secrets or explain things on the show". When the series DVD complete set comes out there are going to be more DVDs and CDroms explaining everything then there are DVDs of the episodes.

Yes! Vincent will see Episode 120, the finale in May 2010! Who can ever forget the shot of Vincent racing into the surf, trying to follow Michael and Walt on the raft near the end of Season One, as the musical score soared? I get a lump in my throat just remembering that little moment. "Lost" works on so many levels...the grand mystery and the small moments between the richest characters ever created for a TV series.

Dorjean, I did think that there was a chance that "unspoiled" was meant to be a pun. I guess I should've just left it alone.

Man, that looked and sounded like a great panel... too bad I wasn't able to get in due to the lines being extremely long that day.
Seeing how Cuse and Lindehof jokingly spoiled that Locke was in the coffin at last year's panel - which none of us in attendance took seriously, which made that moment in the show even better - I wonder if anything they said at this year's panel (however humorous) could actually be potential spoilers! Guess we'll have to wait and see...

You can view the entire panel discussion-minus the 'pirated' Marvin Candle video-on youtube.com. Topdawg has broken it down into five segments, and it's well worth checking out.
