Lost Finds New Time Slot: Thursdays at 9
As first teased by the Ausiello Report, Lost has found a new home — Thursdays at 9 pm/ET, with the new season premiering Jan. 31 (at which time fresh Grey's episodes will have expired). That pits the castaways against CSI repeats, Don't Forget the Lyrics, Celebrity Apprentice and Supernatural. Greg Berlanti's Eli Stone (starring Jonny Lee Miller and Victor Garber) debuts that same night, following Lost.
Also of note on ABC's just- (and finally!) released "strike" schedule: Oprah's Big Give, a new unscripted (and undoubtedly inspirational) series, will air Sundays at 9, pushing Housewives back an hour.
More scheduling announcements:
• Cashmere Mafia gets a special premiere on Thursday, Jan. 3, before claiming Wednesdays-at-10 as its regular home.
• Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann steps out with a two-hour special Monday, January 7, at 8 pm, then airs weekly 90-minute episodes after that. Samantha Who? returns with fresh episodes in February.
• According to Jim returns Tuesday, Jan. 1 at 9, and gets Carpoolers as a lead-out the following week. Shuffle them deck chairs!
• Hey, Cordy fans: Big Shots returns Jan. 10 (at least until Eli shows up).
• Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor launch new seasons Monday, March 17.
What's your take? Who had Thursdays-at-9 in the "Lost's new time slot" office pool?

The entire TV landscape is so jummbled right now, I'm starting to question whether or not the networks planned ahead. I've been hearing about this strike since early last year, and I'm sure the networks knew long before I did.

That timeslot made the most sense to me. ABC would obviously want to put the highest rated show avaiable on Thursday. Plus, American Ido airs on Tues. and Wed. so they definitly avoid that. I am gla they decided to put it on a decent hour. Unfortunately, I have class from 6-10 on Thur. nights next semester. But it will be nice to fast forward through the commercials.

Why can't they put it on Wednesday at 9:00 and take Private Practice off, it's not that good anyway?

I actually don't mind Carpoolers, but that "shuffle them deck chairs" line made me giggle like an idiot for about a-minute-and-a-half!

cfifield2, Grey's won't have any new shows to air, so I imagine it will be taken off for a while. Private Practice is out of new episodes already, so I'm sure something else will air Wednesday's at 9. I think Lost is a natural for Thursdays at 9.

Even though I'm glad Lost is back, only 8 weeks stinks...the season will end by the end of March.
Dirty Sexy Monday is out of fresh episodes.
