Confirmed! More Lost to be Found by Viewers

Confirming what was previously reported here on TV Guide.com, the next two seasons of Lost will contain 17 new episodes apiece — not 16 as was the previous plan.

Simple math tells the whole story. The show's producers planned 16 episodes this season, but only 14 hours will air due to the writers' strike.

"We were supposed to do 16-16-16," Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof said. "So we owe two."

He emphasized the show will not extend beyond its planned finale, scheduled for the climax of the 2009-10 TV season. — J.R. Whalen

I'm very glad to see that we won't be shortchanged over the scope of the series.

Also--grammatical nitpick--
"He emphasized the show will not extend beyond its planned finale, scheduled for the end of the 2010-11 season." Possessive is its, contraction is it's. I'm not trying to single you out; I'm finding it's all too common to see the incorrect usage in the media lately.

Actually, the post is correct as J.R. wrote. Its is the possessive form, it's is a contraction for it is. I even consulted my dictionary before posting this message to make sure I am correct. :-D

Sorry J.R., but I want to be sure. You meant to write the 2009-10 season, right? Thanks for the update, though.

Actually, the post was incorrect when it was first written, because "it's" was used. I saw it when I brought up the page first thing this morning, and my unnecessary apostrophe radar kicked in. However, by the time I clicked on "Comments", it had been corrected.

Can we just blame Charles Widmore for the apostrophe mess and move on...?

Bwahaha! OK, fine. But the first time a TVG staffer uses "would/could/should of", all truces are off. :-D

You were all so busy looking at the apostrophe, you totally missed the missing S.

imple math tells the whole story.

Thanks for the reporting and the grammar lesson.

All grammar policing aside - YES!!! More Lost!! Anything that gives me more of this show is good. Now if anyone can tell me what Richard is (not who but what) I'll be even happier.
