Lost Castaways Found by Fisher Stevens

It's amazing that fancy satellite phone didn't... Short Circuit. Fisher Stevens is joining ABC's Lost in the recurring role of Minkowski, a mysterious character alluded to several times toward the end of last season and ultimately heard over the phone when Jack (stupid, impetuous Jack) made contact with Not Penny's Boat.

The name Minkowski, the Hollywood Reporter notes, could be an allusion to German mathematician Hermann Minkowski, whose concept of a fourth dimension — time — played into Einstein's theory of special relativity

Minkowski, Einstein, Asimov... what's with all the flippin' science in my column today?!

I remember Stevens from Short Circuit. He was the Indian sidekick of Steve Gutenberg. Since that was 20 years ago, I wonder if a) his character might be a little politically incorrect for our times b) if they'll now be such a big uproar about a causian playing an Asian character today (this being a few years before there was one when Johnathan Price was in Miss Saigon).

I LOVED Key West. I had totally forgotten about that show. It wasn't even given a real chance!!!

PS: This is exciting news. Lost is such an intelligent...definitely the best show on television right now...even on its worst night!!!

Lost has been gone for so long now that I don't much care if it returns. We know they get off the island because of the last episode where Jack wants to go back. I loved the show but they ruined it by being gone. It will probably seem like a sequel to the original show.

Yes, I can see some resemblance............... right around the geekness!!
Also the same nerd gene, I believe, with a dash of bookworm.
Not that there is anything wrong with that!
I don't really mind the casting, as long as they don't try to pass him off as a scary villain-only Michael Emerson can pull of a feat like that!!
He deserved an Emmy!

I just love it when I get spoiled (without any warning) about my favorite tv show when I'm just randomly browsing the front page.:8}

catfur, you've just won this weeks ADD viewer of the week award. To collection your prize, some free ADD medication, please call...ah forget it I'm sure you've stopped reading by now.

I guess you don't watch any summer shows or cable shows (like those on FX, USA, HBO, Showtime, etc) because their hiatus' usually last long then Lost's hiatus. Have fun not watching great TV. Even stupid reality shows usually have longer hiatuses. Wow I guess there isn't much for you to watch. Seriously you should see a doctor about that ADD.
