First Look: Things Look Ugly for Lindsay Lohan
|
I may have to stop watching for a while. Love the show, CAN'T STAND Lindsay Lohan.

I'm fine with this. The show could use a good fresh boost after last week's episode and it also needs some extra ratings.
I haven't seen too much of her work, but generally Lohan is considered to be a better actress than Britney and Paris, isn't she?

I'm sorry, but I find the concept of people not watching a show that they say they love, just because of the presence of a guest star, to be a little extreme. I can take or leave Lindsay Lohan, even though I really enjoyed Mean Girls, but her guest appearance won't have a lasting effect on the show, not for better nor for worse. Can't we just judge the episodes that she appears in for their overall quality?

killerhook321, I've only seen her in Mean Girls, but she totally knocked that movie out of the ballpark. If she brings that sort of talent to UB, then I'm game.
Although I hope that blonde picture of her isn't what she's looking like these days. She was so much prettier with her red hair.

I will enjoy watching Lindsay on Ugly Betty. I for one have enjoyed most of her movies. Her personal life is not all that great and that's one of the reasons so many people don't care for her. If some of us were in the spotlight we may see that some of our lives aren't picture perfect either. I enjoy Ugly Betty and wouldn't stop watching just because of a guest appearance by someone.

Her talent has been overshadowed by her off screen issues so I am hopeful this guest stint will turn our okay. My only worry is UB will eventually catch the Will and Grace bug, and book too many famous faces ...

I know that some people are concerned about the casting of guest stars (the Will & Grace syndrome), but at least doing so on Ugly Betty is consistent with the original Colombian version, Yo soy Betty, la fea and many of its other international adaptations. In each country, the fashion house (or Mode magazine, in the U.S. version) is frequently visited by some of those nations' most famous celebrities, often portraying themselves, but sometimes playing fictional characters.

Ugh !!! Enough with the overexposure queens. Up to now I've liked the Ugly Betty stunt castings (even though Christian Siriano's stint was not all that fierce). I can deal with Lohan for one episode but giving the girl 5 episodes; just a tad bit nauseating.

I just heard that LiLo allegedly stole a mink coat! What's up with that?

um, killerhook321, if being a better actress than britney or paris is the new criteria for being a "good" actress, then most people are. Hell, YOU are probably a better actress than they are (on screen at least. both paris and britney do some phenomenal non-paid work in front of the paparazzi!)
lohan is good at playing lohan. only time will tell whether she can do more than that. she's had two good movies. that does not a good actress make. her pr machine hyped her up enough that people THINK she is better than she has proven herself to be so far.

I actually just saw Lohan in Bobby. I was having a 70s esque weekend; I saw Bobby and Network. I thought she was good in the role. Sweet, but not cloyingly so. When she's given the right direction, Lohan can act. So, I'm interested in seeing how does on Ugly Betty. I think making her someone from Betty's past is actually a smart move. It places her in the Suarez family story line, which consistently delivers. Of course, I think the show is at it's best when we spend time with Betty's family.
