Live with Regis and Kelly... and Kathie Lee, Too?

Live with Regis and Kelly has unveiled its plan to celebrate the morning program's 20 years on the air starting Sept. 3, and among the two-week event's special guests is no less than Reege's previous sidekick, Kathie Lee Gifford. "This will be the first time Regis, Kelly and Kathie are together on the air," executive producer Michael Gelman reminds the New York Post. "We've been waiting for the right time to have her back and this is a big event, so we're happy to have her." Gelman shrugs off talk of lingering bad blood between "Kathie Me" and the talker, saying, "We agreed on most things and disagreed on others."

Also as part of the celebration, Live is teaming with Chrysler to give away one minivan a day for 20 days. (Mom Jeans not included.)

I think it is way past time for this to happen. The greatest would be for Kathie to co-host with Kellie one day!! I liked Kathie alot and what is wrong with talking about your family? You can't have it both ways. If you don't mention your family then automatically the media thinks you're having marital problems.

I'm definitely more a Pipa (that's what Big Daddy calls her) fan. Kelly's adorable. Kathie Lee on the other hand creeps me out.

Don't care for Kathie Lee! Ever since her cousin Bruce died she hasn't been the same.... Fine, lame joke, but that's because I was inspired by the SNL reference (Mom Jeans? Nobody?)

I'll never forget when Kathie Lee went on the View or Oprah or the Today show and give ewwwy details about how she and Frank made up, something about locking themseleves in the bedroom for what can best be described as a 3-day sex marathon. After "and each time we made love......" I have NEVER been able to get that visual out of my head when someone brings up her name. I'm emotionally scarred. Can I sue? :^O

I imagine that the show with both Kelly and Kathie Lee will be quite civilized...Kathie Lee made an appearance on Kelly's show "Hope & Faith" so I don't think there is any animosity between them.

I agree with the earlier poster that it would be great to see JUST Kelly and Kathie Lee co-hosting the show without Regis some day...that would be funny!

However, I do have to say that I keep expecting to hear the announcer make a mistake some morning and introduce Kelly as Kathie Lee...

I think Kelly Ripa can handle that with no problem. Kathie Lee was actually a nice lady. I felt sorry for her when her husband cheated and she was humiliated in front of the public. I'm glad she's okay, but I just don't see what she sees in her husband. I think she left the show prematurely. She probably thought her career would move forward, but it didn't. I'm sure it's taking alot of courage for her to go back and be a guest on the show now. Kelly and Kathie seem very much alike. They're both very bubbly and people-oriented. I think they'll do fine on the show together. Regis will love it too. What I would like to see the most though, is Kelly and her husband Mark co-hosting together more often. That's a show I would make a point of tuning into.

I look forward to seeing Kathie Lee appear on the Sept 14th show honoring the 20th anniversary. As Regis said, she was an very instrumental part in the show going on the air nationally and she was there for over 14 years.

As gossip has it, Gelman couldn't stand her (this was pre his being a father) and he has steadfastly refused to even let her come on to co-host when Kelly was gone (I think Kelly has alot to do with that, also) and he would not even allow her to be booked to sing to promote any of her CDs.

They must really need the ratings for Michael Gelman to give in to her appearing.

I am looking forward to her appearance and am one of those who wonders how in the world Kelly Ripa got the job. Lucky, I guess. I sure don't feel any love for her. She is soooooo into herself and her constant looking at herself in the monitors, doing her "model walk", etc. are boring.

Regis is the show!!

It is about time. I hope everyone will enjoy her and Regis together again. Oh yeah the blonde chick too. She should be so good. I miss Kathie Lee and wish she whould come back. Wish Kathie lee was back-kid talk and all. Guys listen to kelly's laugh-phony!!!!! Sorry bit I have neve rliked her-has to be in the middle of everything. I actually was hoping for kathie to be the new co-host on The View. I do like Whoppie though. Elizabeth would be prob. happy with Kathie Lee. Regis get her back.!!!!!!!!1
