Welcome to the Jungle... One Week Earlier

Those of us even mildly interested in checking out Lipstick Jungle (aka one of the few new series on TV) will get our makeup one week earlier than the series' Feb. 7 premiere on NBC.

The network is giving TiVo subscribers the chance to download it free at Amazon's Unbox from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6. If the curiosity about the new Candace Bushnell series is killing you, here's your chance to get ahead of the game.

And the best part about it? Our own Mitovich says that Lipstick "isn't nearly as unwatchable as Cashmere Mafia." — Anna Dimond

The Lipstick Jungle cast looks great, so I will definitely give it a try, but I really don't understand why everyone is so down on Cashmere Mafia!

If you stop EXPECTING Carrie Bradshaw et al and accept it for the soapy, wealthy, sexy and flawed cast of characters in crazy jobs, and wild plot-lines, you might enjoy it!

Not every show has to have substance. Very little Reality tv has any substance. Can't it just be some silly fun?

I will give you that Bonnie Sommerville needs a few acting lessons - I mean who acts opposite LOURDES BENEDICTO and still projects NO chemistry? Sheesh!

That's my 2¢ worth.

With such a glowing recommendation from Matt, how can I resist giving it a try? :) Hopefully I can stick it out; after one episode of CM, I decided I was more of an acrylic kind of girl.

Well being a guy, I didn't think I'd care about this show, but I watched the first pilot (before some cast changes) and thought it was all right. Definitely not the worst that's out there, but certainly no Pushing Daisies or Friday Night Lights, et al.

Definitely worth a shot at least.

I saw the pilot back in the fall when it was widely distributed online. It was nothing special, but who knows it could be one of those shows that takes time to find it's grove. At any rate it's still better then any reality show, but that's not saying much.

Gee- I think I can "hold on" until Feb. 7th; no need for the free download!
