Lindsay Lohan Surrenders to Police for May Car Crash

Lindsay Lohan turned herself into the Beverly Hills Police on Thursday to be fingerprinted and photographed (no crotch shots, please) in connection with her involvement in the Memorial Day weekend car crash where she was found to have a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit. Lohan was released on her own recognizance, with a court date slated for Aug. 24.

Meanwhile, Lohan's hard partying, though supposedly now curbed, may have cost her a film gig. Poor Things, in which she was to have starred with Shirley MacLaine, had its plug pulled because, as an e-mail from a production source cited by the New York Post claims, "Ms. Lohan's [recent] antics... have scared the bond companies, and all of the funding has been pulled."

A pal of LiLo's refutes the spin, saying the film "was a mess to begin with," then adds, "Lindsay is proving to everyone that she is, and will remain, sober by voluntarily wearing the ankle bracelet and taking drug tests."

Everyone makes mistakes, some more than others. Who are we to be judgemental of her? At least it seems like she's making an effort to get her act together this time.

Okay, it's early yet, but she is wearing that ankle bracelet, so it appears she's determined to make right on this. If she continues on this path, I'd be ready to give her some respect for cleaning up her act. I don't see her as a loser, but as a young woman with far too much pressure in her life who took a wrong turn. This effort to get back on track is admirable.

She's young, she came into a ton of money, and she didn't exactly have the best parental role models. She made some big mistakes.

If she is serious about getting her life together and staying sober, then that is great. I really hope she takes it seriously. I'm afraid that one of these young actresses/singers is going to end up dead, ala River Phoenix, before they realize the dangers of this lifestyle.

I'm pulling for you Lindsay.

Oh please! Spin away, publicists, spin away!

The rehab centre that Lohan went to is a joke! It is the place where celebs can go and get "treatment" to clean up their public image but they do nothing to treat their actual addictions. That would be why they let her leave to go to the gym when there was a perfectly adequate gym within the facility.

The rehab stint had nothing to do with her actually trying to get better, if it did she would have gone to the Betty Ford clinic or any other tough, legit rehab centre.

Promises was just a way to try and piece back together her public image and to make the bond companies willing to insure her. Too bad it didn't work.

Imaguestage, do you have any proof to back this up? Ms. Lohan stayed longer than normal, which makes me think that she was/is serious about cleaning up.

I hope that her current sober streak is real and that she is on the road to a better healthier life. I love La Lohan and I think she's very talented. SHe just needs room to grow up and handle her responsibilities like an adult... God knows her parents aren't much help

I'm not going to be as harse as Imaguestage, and am willing to wait and give LL a chance, but it is a Loooonnngggg standing practice, after getting into legal and other types of problems, to jump to rehab, and stay as long as you can-especially past the norm--to look good. Everyone is doing this Actors, Actressess, Politicians, Joe Blow Everyman. Ask any lawyer--after being busted for Drugs and/or alcohol, if you can afford it, you HAVE to go to rehab to look good for the court date! But she should get a chance..

Yes I agree Furley. Lindsay will come around. Now only if her BFF Britney were this honest about her problems (even if it's not drugs and/or alcohol) like Lindsay is then she would be able to get a second chance too.

I hope she learned her lesson in rehab. I pity the poor cast and crew of the film "Poor Things". Lindsay's behavior cost many, many people their jobs.

I hope she is able to get herself together and get her life back on track. She was just a young girl who came in to a lot of money and fame too quickly, and didn't know how to handle it well, because she had no parental guidance.

And I don't think I can believe the rumor that the investor pulled the money just because of Lindsay. If they really thought the movie was any good, but were worried about her, I believe they probably would have just had her fired and the part recast.

The optimist in me hopes that it's true she is trying to clean up her act. Maybe she could be a good role model for other young actors.

The pessimist in me says she saw Paris's fate and is trying to prevent the same for herself by going through the motions.

On a related note I find it funny that celebs seem to think that going to Rehab is an automatic free pass. If you are caught drunk or high - Rehab. If you insult people (based on religion, race, or orientation) - Rehab (trying to figure out rehab for those last ones). Maybe O.J. and Robert Blake could have gone to Rehab for abuse and avoided those pesky trials.

I am a person who saw a young drunk person run over another young sober person. LL is a person of great promise and she is using drugs in a way that can harm others and the investments of others.

For that matter those who served her should be locked up also. They more than likely knew she was undereage.
