Hills Star Fires Back

As reported yesterday, Lauren Conrad has been the target of many rumors after attending a charity event and supposedly not coming through with her end of the bargain by ditching out early.

Well, The Hills reality star is setting the online gossip-mongers straight in the most efficient way possible — with a blog post, of course!

"I agreed to pose for the cover of the magazine, host the event, do press at the event and donate clothing, all of which I did. I was not aware of any other commitments," said Conrad. "I was not paid to attend the event...I also made a voluntary donation to the Humane Society for more then the cost of my airfare so there would be no expense to the charity." Conrad also went on to express how "hurt and disappointed" she was with the woman in charge of the event, Wendy Diamond, for going to the press attacking her "with untrue statements."

So now it's Conrad's word versus Diamond's. Who do you believe? Or do you think the whole thing is just one huge miscommunication that got blown out of proportion? — Gina DiNunno

Sorry it just sickens me that any attention is being paid to her and the rest of her "hills" buddies. They are talentless no name wanna-be's who are getting attention for NOTHING! They are treated like they are movie stars or royalty and they are a bunch of mindless twits! (JMO)

I have never even seen the stupid show but I have seen quite enough of her and the other idiots.

If she was going to make a donation in excess of her airfare, as she says, why even accept free accommodations to begin with (from a non profit/charity)? She should've just covered her own costs to begin with. I don't buy it.

Who cares? I highly doubt that 98% of the people who bought tickets for the event cared or even know who Lauren Conrad is. Everyone needs to get over it.

In fifteen minutes this chick will be begging the Humane Society to let her walk their dogs for publicity. She seems to have forgotten that she's a cheesy reality TV personality, not an actress. She's already stretched her face time with the public way beyond the point of breaking. If she's smart she'll snap up all the crumbs she's tossed and be grateful she's not on Celebrity Fit Club yet.

Although I don't care about LC one way or the other, I have to say that I've met Wendy Diamond and the woman is a HUGE flake. I wouldn't trust anything she says.

She taught a Learning Annex class in NY a couple years back, and the majority of the class asked for refunds because her answer to every question was "you can look that up on the Internet." No joke. She wasn't even bright enough to come up with answers in her own field. She snuck her dog into the class in a "no dogs allowed" building and then let him pee on the floor and didn't even bother to clean it up. She makes LC look as classy as Princess Di compared to her.

On on team LC but this strikes me as odd: "I agreed to ... host the event ... which I did. ...I was not paid to attend the event."

How do you host an event, yet not attend it?

Is that showing up, saying hi, and then promptly leaving?

If that's the case and that's all she was supposed to do, then she apparently did as she was told!

Why are we even talking about this? What a waste of space.

I don't know Lauren Conrad and the only thing I know about Wendy Diamond is a few whacko comments I've read or heard when some animal story makes the news and she throws herself into the story as an "expert." But, given what LC said and what DblA31 said in her comment, I think I'm on LC's side.

Also, CStulz, I think you missed a point. LC was saying she showed up as a volunteer host, instead of being paid for it. She listed the things she'd agreed to do and being part of the fashion show wasn't one of them. Sounds to me like Diamond made an assumption - something she did in those other cases, too. Some people just hear what they want to hear.

StonyG, Lauren Conrad can't even qualify as a reality TV personality, since The Hills is scripted. She's a total fake.
