First Lady Will Host Today

Who isn't hosting Today these days? First, Kathie Lee Gifford set the world on fire by returning to morning TV to co-anchor Today's fourth hour, which had been seriously lacking in Cody stories, with Hoda Kotb. Seeing all seven(!) correspondents on the ever-expanding set sofa made me feel a little outnumbered.

Now First Lady Laura Bush is grabbing herself a cushion, hosting the 9 am hour of Today on April 22 — the same day as the Pennsylvania primary, incidentally. While she will join in several segments during the hour, she'll also talk with her daughter Jenna about a children's book they wrote together, and Ann Curry will get a tour of the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas. — Mickey O'Connor

Oh, Joanna... I thought we were friends. I thought we were friends... friends... coffee. How could you do a thing like that? Like that? Like that? Like that? Friends... Friends...

Okay - apparently this blog has been taken over by Moonbeam and Universe.

Laura Bush will have a life, outside the White House, once her husband's term is up. She is an educator and why wouldn't she be expected to continue in that vein, be it as a teacher, librarian, book writer, or as a morning show co-hostess. She's intelligent, speaks with ease and is enjoyable to look at. This could be NBCs best chance to get it right, for once.

I see Laura Bush as a future Secretary of Education or following in Elizabeth Dole's footsteps and heading up the Red Cross. She's classy and smart and has made lots of connections as First Lady. She's been one of my favorites in my lifetime and I definitely don't want her to disappear into the shadows.

I really like our First Lady Laura Bush, she seems to be a very loving, genuine and supportive wife and Mother. What makes her even more terrific is that she doesn't require or have a need for the spotlight or have a hidden agenda. Her Mother in Law, Barbra can be described the same way.

I like her too ~ but she does look like a Stepford Wife in that picture!

Laura Bush is a one-day guest host. You strain for a story angle somewhat by comparing her to Kathie Lee Gifford, who is a permanent co-host. Apples and oranges. Oops, there goes another questionable news angle.
