Kelly Preston to guest on NBC's Medium - Today's News: Our Take

We didn't even dream this one up. Kelly Preston will be appearing on NBC's Medium for four eppys, starting Monday, April 14 (10 pm/ET).

The actress will play Meghan Doyle, an investment banker who becomes so taken with Joe Dubois' (Jake Weber) solar-powered invention that she decides to underwrite it herself, becoming his business partner. Her interest and attention causes tension in Joe's marriage to Allison (Patricia Arquette).

Exec producer Glenn Gordon Caron was exuberant about Preston's appearance. "We're thrilled to have Kelly join us for the final episodes of Season 4," he said. "We needed an actress who exuded both intelligence and sexuality. Someone who could stand toe-to-toe with Patricia and Jake, and credibly create chaos in a household and a marriage that is as strong as any on television."

I would be tuning in anyways, so yes. This could be interesting, but I hope that they don't mess up the trust and love that Allison and Joe have for each other. (i.e., I hope there's not any actual cheating involved). That would just break my heart.

I don't think future casting news has ever been considered spoilers, this site always has information about what guest stars are going to be on shows and a little bit about the role they'll be playing and their plotlines.

I agree with findmebaby.com, I really want any tension between Alison and Joe to be temporary. They're one of the very few TV couples I look to for an honest protrayal of a healthy marriage with all its ups and downs.

WTF??? Is Kelly Preston even an actress? I always thought she was just Mrs. John Travolta - you know, an appendage. Were there no other qualified actresses available for this role? Come on!

I believe the spoiler alert complaint was in the description of the character underwriting the solar-powered invention because Monday's episode left off with them fighting about using the kids' college fund to pay for it. I guess the submitter assumed Joe continuing with the project wasn't a definite thing.

Ah, I haven't even watched Monday's episode yet (god bless tivo), I didn't even know that the solar powered invention had already entered the picture (although, for the record, I don't feel spoiled one bit).

Thank you, melkisly. I've read the casting news on this website a lot, but this one was pretty detailed and gave away what we will probably see on Monday. In the past, they have warned us of a spoiler alert and I just wish they had done it this time. It's not a big deal; I just wanted them to maybe think about that next time.
