Fox has announced the lineup for a celebrity edition of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, airing Sept. 6 as the hit quizzer's sophomore-season premiere, and benefiting charities. The A- and B-list names going for A+ scores are morning talk king Regis Philbin, American Idol alums Clay Aiken and Kellie Pickler, Extra's Billy Bush, skateboarder Tony Hawk and Miss America Lauren Nelson.

With that lineup, the only way the charities come out with any real money they're going to need to change the show to "Are You Smarter Than a Box of Hair?".

So---comments already and you haven't even seen the show. I have one question for you---do you think YOU could do any better??? Then why don't you sign up for the show? I for sure know I couldn't get very far on it and I don't consider myself dumb by any means. Just give them a chance or better yet--if you're so sure they are going to fail, then DON'T WATCH. Plenty of other people enjoy the show.

Would Amber from Big Brother 8 be on it?

Actually, Prancer, I get almost every question correct on the show. That is why the producers would never pick me. They need someone who can make it look like they are really struggling. I don't think I could fake not knowing who is on a five dollar bill. Or if a dolphin is a fish or not.

Besides, I was making fun of Kelly Pickler, not the show (which my roommate watches and is lame).

Jeez Prancer take a pill. We're just goofing around. No need to take it so seriously. ;)

Happened to catch an episode the other day (usually it's on at the same time as other shows I watch) and someone was confusing "proper nouns" with "pronouns." Jeff Foxworthy was commenting about the contestant being a teacher. If that's true, how sad.

I love the show - but the only celebrity I'd really like to see on it is President Bush - seriously.

Wait a minute - I changed my mind. All the candidates running on both sides and President Bush. Now that would be interesting.

Wow! We are super critical! I don't know, but I think that most people know a majority of the questions. I think that a couple of things happen. Some of the questions are about things that you haven't thought about in a long time. I think that it is even more difficult the older you are (no offense, but when you are older you have had more experiences and have other knowledge) and also I think people start to really worry if they are going to look stupid and start to question themselves over easy things. Have you ever been unsure of how to spell a simple work when you are doing it in front of people? I think that it is magnified when you are answering in front of a television audience.

Anyway, I do know that I would feel hurt if half of the stuff posted on the internet about celebrities was about me. I'm definitely not judging. That is just me, maybe I'm oversensitive.

I just like to think of some people being either sheltered or having different experiences or knowledge rather than being stupid. Maybe that's just the teacher in me. Again, I'm not judging just sharing my opinion.

How about Miss South Carolina Teen USA?

She's dumber than a bag of raisin.

I've only seen a few episodes of the show, because I find it excruciating to watch, but I know that there are some categories where I would fail miserably; astronomy, for one. I remember one question being about the kind of star that burns the hottest. I would hope that I could reason it out the way the contestant did, but I haven't studied anything about stars since taking earth science *mumble* years ago.

Then use the kids to your advantage in that case. Most of the contestants don't understand how to play the game to their advantage. But really, I'm still sticking with most of them are kinda stupid. It's OK to be stupid.
