Katee Sackhoff Ponders Galactica's Future

What does Katee Sackhoff really think of the canceled (though not yet officially) Bionic Woman? After all, many thought she was the only reason to watch. The former Sarah Corvis didn't mince words when she answered TV Guide's question during a Friday conference call: "The main problem with Bionic Woman is that if you get too many hands in the pot, no one can agree with what they're trying to make so you get a stew that's made of s--t." That said, Sackhoff says she "would follow [Bionic/Battlestar Galactica producer David Eick] to the ends of the earth" — which means that maybe Eick will consider her for his upcoming TV take on Children of Men. Not that Sackhoff is necessarily dying to do another kick-butt action project. No, she claims that what she really wants to do "is a romantic comedy with James McAvoy."

Turning to Galactica, which returns April 4... what's her wish for Starbuck's end? "Peace — whether that comes with death or transcendence." Sackhoff also answered our query about the placement of the characters in BSG's Last Supper-esque print ad. Though she claimed the actors don't know what it means, she does find Tricia Helfer's Number Six in the messiah position to be "quite interesting."

For fans of Lee Adama and Starbuck winding up together, Sackhoff is a skeptic. "They're not meant to be," she said, adding that the best couple could be [Shudder] Starbuck and her Cylon guy — not newly revealed toaster Anders but Leoban, the one who kept her prisoner and she kept trying to kill.

Sackhoff also revealed that she agrees with exec producer Ron Moore that a BSG movie should be a no-go. "What's so brilliant about the show is that it's been a four-year movie." It was also, she says, the best TV experience she's ever had. Who'd frakkin' argue with that? — Ileane Rudolph

Eeeewwwwwww, she CANT be serious about Leoben!!! I hope she's just screwing around, maybe even doing what they all did last year when she was supposedly dead, which is frak with our minds to get us all riled up & have to wait to see if its what really happens. OMG that is just the creepiest thought.....

Katee & James McAvoy in a romantic comedy? I would love that.

Yike, Katee Sackhoff in a romantic comedy? Sounds abysmal. From what I've seen of her acting in different roles, she doesn't have the chops or the range to pull off anything but Starbuck/Sarah Corvis, that type of emotionally damaged strong heroine. She does it well, but imo, she does only that well.

As for Starbuck and Leoben. That actually makes sense to me. It'd be fitting for Starbuck to want to be with the guy who mentally abused her. That's what she's used to and she doesn't think she deserves any better.

I like her take on The Bionic Woman. I wonder if she's free to do any commentary during the Presidential campaign this fall! ;)

I'd follow Katee anywhere on TV. :-D I did follow her to Bionic Woman until I couldn't stand it anymore (lol)

I can't wait for BSG! Yay!

Katee wants to be in a romantic comedy with James McAvoy?

That is one smart lady. And I would probably watch the movie 10 times.

I can't wait for it to finally be cancelled...ugh!! Enough of this thing already! SciFi Channel, how about putting on some real SCIENCE FICTION rather than this gut-wretching soap opera?

The Real Issue is: since Sam Anders turned out to be a Cylon, should they throw out any records he holds in Pyramid? Should his team have to give up their wins?

They are planning to bring Children of Men to TV? Is the story same as Clive Owen's Children of Men movie? I love that movie. Bleak and grim. End of the world. I'll definately watch the series.

Send BSG out on a big twist - Starbuck is the last Cylon.

Leads the fleet to an ambush at Earth.

Last scene is Starbuck looking to the sky, like the last (only good) ep for Galactica 1980.

Did you see the BSG cast on Letterman doing the Top 10 list? Thats was pretty funny. A good resource for catching up on missed episodes by the way is fancast which has them up (full-length and FREE) at http://www.fancast.com/tv/Battlestar-Galactica/8792/watch-it/on-fancast

*raises hand*

If Anders is free, I volunteer!

Joking aside, I'm really geeked for the final season; I only started watching the show on DVD about a year ago, and I'm totally hooked. (And not just for the scenery.)

And I think she's right about Bionic Woman - it had potential, it just never gelled.

sewerat101, not sure what show you're watching, but BSG (and a great deal of scifi fans and critics agree) is the best scifi program to come along in a long time. It's got all the elements of classic science fiction, especially the themes of questioning what it means to be human, the future of the human race, the role of technology, etc. Maybe Stargate is more your speed.
