Justin Chambers, who checked into the UCLA Medical Center psych ward last week to get treatment for exhaustion, is now doing well, say his Grey's Anatomy cast mates. "I spoke with Justin once I'd heard about him checking himself in, and he's doing great," James Pickens Jr. told TV Guide at Saturday's NAACP Image Awards Nominee Luncheon. "He said, 'I’m good. I just needed to get some rest.'"

Of Chamber's decision to seek treatment, Chandra Wilson said, "We are on a break, so we have some time to take care of things that need to be taken care of, and everybody's got to take care of their health. You run yourself down and the next thing you know you're really tired. That's just human."

According to Pickens, Chambers is currently in Arizona with his family. — Carita Rizzo

Isn't the treatment for exhaustion to rest? Why would someone have to check themselves into a psych hospital because they are tired? Did they forget how to sleep? These celebrities aren't fooling anyone with this dodge. There is always something else going on in these cases.

He should have been well rested after a three month writers strike!!!!!!

I'm guessing that with five young kids at home it might be a bit hard to find some time to relax. Even with the strike, which probably brought a whole set of other problems to his plate.

well regardless of WHY he can't sleep....At least he has done something about it. At least he values his WIFE KIDS AND JOB and wants to keep his life the way it is. Im happy for him. (Unlike Ms Spears who takes all three of those things for granted.)

If theres going to be news about celebrities, lets have more about them doing the right thing such as this.

Or maybe one of your favorite celebutwits driving their car off a cliff. Paris? Lindsey? Britney? Any of you getting the hint here?

Yeah, I'm not buying this either.

While I can understand exhaustion in any parent with five children at home, I think it makes more sense to check into a HOTEL instead of a PSYCH WARD if all you need is some uninterrupted sleep.

Give me a break.

I applaud Justin Chambers for seeking professional help for his sleep problems. We do not know the specifics of his problems and should not be so quick to judge him. I have had to seek medical help in a sleep clinic and medication for sleep problems due to physical conditions I have for quite a few years. Problems with sleep and not getting enough quality sleep can become serious and soon become a viscous circle if not dealt with. At least he taken enough responsibility to deal with it, rather than like some other celebrities who refuse to and we've seen the consequences of their actions.

dsky - thanks for sharing, there's obviously a lot of ignorance out there regarding the seriousness of sleep disorders.

"Exhaustion"

Celebrity code for one of the following:

Anarexia
Bullimia
Alcholicism
Drug Overdose
Plastic Surgery Convalescence

Which one do you think ms. Chambers has?

I'm a nurse practitioner and there is no way someone would be admitted to a psych ward for exhaustion. Even if he is a celebrity, people wait months to see a psychiatrist and if someone gets admitted inpatient there is an acute problem going on. There is often a problem with a shortage of beds in the inpatient settings. Any way you look at it "exhaustion" in not a diagnosis that will get you in the psych ward...maybe it is associated with what triggered the 'real' cause. It is none of my business why Justin Chambers was really there and he has a right to privacy, BUT I am confident there is much more to the story.

Well, did any of you experts and know-it-alls stop and think that maybe there's a psychological reason why he can't sleep? Sleep disorders aren't always a result of a physical ailment.

Who really cares? Why this is even news is a head scratcher. The man can't sleep, there may be a medical reason. Sounds like a private matter to me. Maybe celebs need to have a media HIPAA rule!

LJB, originally a celeb's pr person would release info like this as a pre-emptive strike to avoid rumors and hearsay.

Unfortunately, the greedy buggers that we are aren't satisfied with the answers we're given and we keep spinning it until we come up with the answer we think is salacious enough for our entertainment.
