Jimmy Smits' Cane: CBS Invites You to Take a Lick

CBS has created for its freshman series Cane a "first-of-its-kind" print ad that tastes like a nonalcoholic lime mojito. The ad, appearing in the issue of Rolling Stone on newsstands Sept. 7, promotes the fictional Duque Rum brand featured in the family-centered drama by way of a tamper-proof packet containing a lime-mojito-flavored dissolving taste strip.

The two-page ad also directs readers to LuciaDuqueRum.com, a website created for the series and where details can be found on the search for "The Duque Rum Girl," who will be cast in an upcoming episode.

Nonalcoholic or not, I'm betting that if you lick a few dozen of these ads, you'll get a nice buzz going.

Um, why would I lick something that I pulled of the magazine stand....gross!?<img border=">

Also, why even have a fake alcoholic drink be made so cool and accessible to kids??? Yes, I know that it's all out there anyway, but It just doesn't seem the right message—to me, anyway.

I think that it is probably covered and intended for a one-time usage!

I think that the idea is cool!

Rather than something to lick they should have given you something to suck, because that's what this show is going to do. I think this will be one of the first shows to go on "hiatus".
