Jim Carrey Is Really Out to Scrooge Moviegoers

Jim Carrey will play Ebenezer Scrooge — as well as the three ghosts that haunt him — in a new big-screen adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, to be written and directed for Disney by Robert Zemeckis, says Variety. Zemeckis will shoot the film using "performance capture/Disney digital 3-D" animation, a technique he introduced in Tom Hanks' Polar Express and fine-tuned for Beowulf (an upcoming film starring Angelina Jolie), a bit of live action and a dash of Monster House-esque computer graphics.

And just like that, The Grinch looks art-house.

A little too great! No one-sided comments from me, but you might get one more from Matt.

Geez how many versions of A Christmas carol have there been? And sometimes just one Jim carrey is too much. But four of him? I hope it's good but I'm not too hopeful.

There will never be enough version of Christmas Carol for me - BUT - come on Jim, give some other actors/actresses a chance. People need jobs, you know? Is he cross dressing for one role, since often one is a woman?
