Ooh, so close. Shortly after I guessed/surmised/suggested that Jennifer Aniston would be guesting on 30 Rock as either an old classmate of Liz's or a new paramour for Jack, NBC has come forth with details on the Must-See TV alumna's role.
Aniston will be playing Claire Harper, a former Chicago roomie of Liz's turned "free-spirited, Fatal Attraction-like stalker." Once in New York City, Claire "attaches herself to Jack Donaghy," says the Peacock.
(My next, and better, guess? Aniston as Devon Banks' newly surgically enhanced wife.)
Meanwhile, paparazzi photos are circulating showing Aniston, Fey (made up to look like "Monica") and Jane Krakowski (channeling "Phoebe") filming what looks to be a spoof of Friends' fountain-romping opening credits. An NBC rep has yet to comment on the nature of those pics.
Calling it "a thrill to have Jennifer back on NBC on a Thursday night," Teri Weinberg, executive VP of NBC Entertainment, says Aniston "is the perfect comedic talent to work with the Emmy-winning 30 Rock cast." Adds Tina Fey, "Jennifer is not only incredibly lovely to have around, she also has what the young people would call 'mad skills.' We’re very excited that she’s joining us."
