Pilot News: Jennie Garth Is Best Friend's Girl, and More

The odds of Kelly Taylor swinging by the 90210 spin-off just dipped a bit. Jennie Garth has scored the title role in My Best Friend's Girl, a CBS comedy pilot about two best buds whose friendship is tested when one (Carpoolers' Tim Peper) begins dating the other's (Big Day's Josh Cooke) ex-wife.

More pilot casting news from the Reporter: Shailene Woodley (Felicity: An American Girl Adventure) has landed the lead in an untitled ABC Family series from 7th Heaven's Brenda Hampton, and Bruno Campos (Nip/Tuck) has joined The Office's David Denman in the Fox comedy Night Life.

What does this mean for Carpoolers? Is he being written out or is the show not coming back?

I was never a fan of Jennie's when she was on "90210" - Kelly Taylor was about my least favorite character, but I started liking her a lot better when she was on "Dancing with the Stars," so I might have to tune in for this new show and give it a try.

"Carpoolers" sucked - it should be cancelled if it hasn't been already. Faith Ford should have made a better choice about being in the cast.

I never watched 90210 but became a fan of hers during DWTS. I'll tune in to check it out.

I thought Jennie Garth was good in What I Like About you. I loved her and Amanda Bynes.

I never watched 90210 or Carpoolers, but liked Jenny on DWTS, so will check out the new show.
Seems that DWTS has really been a boon for a lot of stars!

As a fan of 90210 and one who has some excitement about the rumored spinoff, this is a bit of a bummer. But good luck to JG. Hope this show works out

See, this is what is wrong with CBS.

Stop coming up with so many comedy pilots, unless you're gonna have enough for two solid nights. They will probably cancel HIMYM for some garbage pilot like this. They have The Big Bang Theory, HIMYM, Two and a Half Men, Rules of Engagement, and Old Christine. All of these shows are good comedies, but CBS is too stubborn to have two nights of comedy.
