Jamie Lynn's Pregnancy Gives Birth to Rumors

Now that nearly all of the facts about 16-year-old Jamie Lynn Spears' pregnancy have come forth — she's due around Mother's Day, and Nickelodeon seems committed to airing Zoey 101 — it was inevitable that rumors started surfacing. Some of the buzz:
• Spears was paid $1 million by OK! for her story. (The tab got a bargain, if you ask me.)
• Though Spears has ID'd Casey Aldridge as the child's father, the New York Daily News hears she had been seeing rapper Lil' Romeo.
• Casey's Uncle Odus tells TMZ (see video here) the family is "shocked" and yet "we aren't" by the news. A pastor, Odus has seen "this type of thing" more often than he'd like.
• Britney has sent her sis blue and pink baby blankets with a note: "Just a little something to keep the little gal or guy warm. I luv you, Brit."
• And perhaps the silliest story I have seen this morn: Fashion designer Liz Lange tells People mom-to-be Jamie Lynn should dress in "little cute dresses and jeans with tight-fitting T-shirts," adding, "she's 16, and I'd like to see her look her age." Did she really just bring age-appropriateness into this conversation?
What's your take? Is this story only going to get worse before it gets better? And do we need the strike to end or what?!

I can't begin to imagine the comedy gold that is being missed...Letterman, Leno! SNL would have a field day.
I know, this circumstance forever altering a child's life is not funny... but the family sure is. Come on it is better to laugh than cry. 
I miss the writers.

Good point! We've never needed Best Week Ever more than this week. The Spears family alone has given BWE enough material to do a year-end special. It's been quite a banner year in the Spears household.

Maybe Brittany got her addiction for attention from her mother. What kind of mother would sell her daughter's situation like that?
Maybe she should write a book on "How to Raise a Train Wreck of a Family That Just Keeps Going and Going.....".

I, too, read Ms. Lange comments and thought how insane is this women. She later states in the same article she thinks Jamie Lynn should still keep her innocent look, HUH?! I think all innocence has been lost when you have a child growing inside you.
Although, it was great comedy relief this morning, I am so happy that other folks are realizing how crazy this little maternity dressing story actually is.

If she is 12 weeks pregnant, there is no way she is due in May, around Mother's Day. I'm 14 weeks pregnant & not due until 6/18. If she's truly 12 weeks along, she wouldn't be due until the end of June or first part of July. Makes you wonder if she's only 12 weeks along.

My take - who cares !!! The show should air the eps they got and everyone should get out of this young girl's business.
Is this the 1950's ?? Oh no - she's pregnant - go run and hide !
It's her personal problem, and her families.

Maybe she's not pregnant at all. This is just a Spears Family Stunt to get the heat off Britney.
But then we are talking about the Spears Family - yeah, she's probably pregnant.
Liz Lange's clothes are kind of cute and really not that maternity looking. But she is insane by even thinking that this kid should still look her age and innocent!! Sheesh!!! She's pregnant for goodness sake, not getting a makeover and appearing on What Not To Wear. Yeah, wearing tight fitting t-shirts while pregnant WILL bring her face to face with Tracy & Clinton!!
But in a serious vane - the press should really kind of lay off this story already. Don't glorify or give attention to the fact that this is a 16 year old girl, who was living with her 19 year old boyfriend and got pregnant. What does that show to all the young pre-teens and teens out there? That's it's okay? Kids are going to see this story on TV, in the mag rags, etc. and their idea of reality may not be as astute as an adult's and may think it's cool to get pregnant at 14, 15 or 16 years old.

I agree with you TVchiq, Best Week Ever, Late Night Talk Shows and SNL would love this. Even though this isn't a laughing matter.....they will still love this.
ZZZ999Maybe she should write a book on "How to Raise a Train Wreck of a Family That Just Keeps Going and Going.....". -thats the a good one and Lindsey Lohans mother Dena should co-write it.
And the Liz Lange comment was the dumbest thing ever.
