In The Taking of Pelham 123, a new film remake, the former Sopranos star will be playing the mayor of New York. His character faces a big crisis when a thug (played by John Travolta) and his posse hold a subway car full of people for ransom. Denzel Washington also stars.

Since the close of The Sopranos, Gandolfini's been a busy man, with a number of upcoming films from his production group, Attaboy Films, as well as a starring role in an HBO production to play basketball legend Sonny Vaccaro.

Do we really need ANOTHER remake of "The Taking of Pelham 123"?

Wasn't the version with Lorraine Bracco, Edward James Olmos & Vincent D'Onofrio enough?

To say nothing of the original.
