You know, before the internet (yes, I'm that old) I stopped watching soap operas because I thought they were out there. Little did I know these things were happening all around us, we just didn't know about it. Now who needs Soaps, we've got Matt.

Law & Order: SVU's Richard Belzer is penning for Simon & Schuster a mystery series featuring himself as a TV actor who solves real crimes.
That sounds similar to some books that the late Steve Allen wrote. I read about five or six books where he and his real life wife, Jayne Meadows, solved murders in places like a TV studio or cruise ship.
