Housewives Pharmacist Now a Doctor... Frankenstein
A pair of small-screen stars and a Tony winner will most likely headline Mel Brooks' Broadway-bound Young Frankenstein musical. Per Variety, Roger Bart (late of Desperate Housewives) is said to have landed the role of the deranged doc, while Will & Grace's Megan Mullally will tackle Elizabeth, his taffeta-loving fiancée. Broadway diva Sutton Foster is Inga, the woman who comes between them.
Rounding out the cast are stage vets Christopher Fitzgerald as Igor and Shuler Hensley as Frankenstein's monster. Alas Frau Blücher is neighwhere to be seen. — Reporting by Raven Snook

Alas Frau Blücher is neighwhere to be seen.
I thought Cloris Leachman was going to reprise her film role of Frau Blücher. Am I just imagining that I read that somewhere?

I like Andrea Martin. I think she could probably do the role justice, although I have a hard time imagining Young Frankenstein with people other than the film's stars in the roles.
Thanks for the information, y'all.

Sweeetpea, your homework assignment is to rent "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein". As great as "History of the World" is, it doesn't hold a candle ("Put ze candle back!") to either of these classics.

I actually have seen them all. Each one is a comic gem from a comic genius. I can't explain why History appeals to me the way it does over the others, it just does. I definitely don't mean to slight any of his other movies, they are all genius.
