How Housewives Left Cast Members Hanging

Nicollette Sheridan by Danny Feld/ABC Is Edie eligible for voice-over duty, having hanged herself in Desperate Housewives' Season 3 finale? Or is she as lousy at looping nooses as she is at landing men? Andrea Bowen, who plays DH's Julie (and stars in the June 25 Lifetime movie Girl, Positive), says the shocker came as much as a surprise to cast members as it did to viewers. "That wasn’t in the original script, it was an added thing," the teen tells TVGuide.com. "In fact, I said to Jamie [Denton, Mike], 'I'm hearing all this stuff about the last few minutes of the show, and that it has to do with Nicollette [Sheridan]. Do you know anything about it?' He was like, 'No, I don’t know at all.' So I have no idea what's happening with that story line, but I think it was a great way to leave it." Has Sheridan been told if Edie will live to see another day on Wisteria Lane? "I don’t know if she knows," says Bowen. "But I definitely don’t know!" POLL: Do you think Edie's dead? Vote here. I read somewhere that Sheridan's character was coming back and presumably alive. I like Edie, she adds a lot to the show and I hope they keep using her as they did when Marcia Cross was gone.

I hope Edie comes back alive. I'm think the ending with Edie was a red herring.

I hope she returns, but I worry that a lot of fans will feel betrayed if she isn't brought back in a realistic way.

Pretty funny line from The Soup the other week. Joel said something like "Don't worry Desperate Housewives fan. After all those facelifts, her windpipe is now in her forehead".

I don't think there is any way Edie is dead. Marc Cherry has to realize Edie is the best comic relief they have. She pretty much carried the show while Marcia Cross was away. And I have a feeling she's going to end up preggers.

I hope they bring her back too. Each of the housewives have their place in the show, and even though she had been more on the sidelines previously, she definitely would be missed if they decided to get rid of her. Please let the beam snap or have someone find her NOW!

She hung herself with a scarf. I don't think that it would hold her too well.

She won't be hanging for long I feel...either the scarf will come undone or what she hung herself from will break. They can't get rid of Edie...she causes too much friction and excitement on the show!

Maybe Edie dreamed the whole hanging thing, or the scarf will break and no one knows she tried to do the deed. Edie should know how hard it would be on the other girls to have 2 suicides in the neighborhood, so she won't tell them at first. She just needs a little self esteem help and the girls can do that for her, but she needs clean up her act first and quit being such a MANipulator! But then she wouldn't be Edie, so fight on Edie, you are one of my favorites.

Season 4 will open with Carlos in bed waking up from the sound of the shower running. He will go into the bathroom and pull across the shower curtain with Edie saying "Good morning,honey! "
