Production on Fox's House on Thursday had to abruptly be rescheduled when series star Hugh Laurie hopped on a plane home to England. The actor, who since the show's launch has lived apart from his wife and kids, "had family obligations... to attend to, but production is continuing in his absence," a studio rep tells the Hollywood Reporter. "The producers said that he asked for time off, and they were happy to facilitate it."
A spokesperson for Laurie says he is expected back at work Monday.
