Pilot News: Is Hilary Duff the Next Resident of 90210?
Hilary Duff by Jordan Strauss/WireImage.com
Is Hilary Duff the next resident of the new Beverly Hills, 90210? The singer-actress-mogul might just be in talks to play one of the leading ladies at West Beverly High, says E!.
The role Duff is rumored to be eying is that of Annie Mills, who's into acting, emo tunes and fitting in with the artsy crowd. If the rumors are true, Duff would be joining Runaway's Dustin Milligan, who's been cast to play Ethan, the big man on campus.
Can you picture Duff on the West Beverly campus? Would she be the type of new generation 90210er you're dreaming of? Or is she just "So Yesterday"? — Anna Dimond

I have to say that I thought it was a bad idea when they cast Dustin Milligan, but after watching Supernatural this week, I saw a whole new side of him. I hated him on Runaway, but he was so sweet on this Thursday's episode. Poor Corbett...
And about Hilary Duff, I've never seen her act, so who knows, it might turn out that she's ok.

I know that the original cast of 90210 were older than high school kids, but they were unknowns. I'm not sure how old Hillary is, but I think she's in her 20's. They need new actresses, not recycled.

She's only 20, so she isn't that old. She is a talented enough actress to be on a CW soap like OTH, so she'll do.
But yeah, this show is just going to bomb anyway...

She isn't the best young actress out there, but for this show? She'll be fine. I agree she is better than most, and she should at least get bonus points for not going the way of other starlets, including the one she was pitted directly against within the Disney conglomerate

Hilary Duff looks young enough to be in High School, she is transitioning from that young, overacting kid to hopefully studying to be a solid adult actress (I think her sister is sort of a solid actress, from Joan of Arcadia and 7th Heaven).
The original 90210 had a very well know Shannon Doherty -- at the time, Shannon was very well known for her role in a popular family show called Our House, and started on the program Little House on The Prairie. So the original concept for 90210 was based around Shannon (Brenda Walsh), her family moving from the mid-west to an ultra-cool school of 90210. The original concept focused and centered on the Walsh family, and was built up from there. More recently, Desperate Housewives started with a few B-List stars, and then became an A-List program; it is all based on good writing and storylines (combined with some great acting). If the new 90210 keeps the Aaron Spelling formula than this new program really has a great shot at being successful...Hillary could find an entire new audience with this program, and hopefully she will have work for the next nine seasons.

Hell no! Brittany, Paris or Lindsay yes. Hilary is too "nice" to be on that type of show. She's better off sticking to her Disney type stuff.

Hillary Duff would probably be a pretty good addition to the cast.
P.S. TPTB might want to correct the link to this article on the front page... unless the phrase "Is Hillary BE joining the 90210 spin-off" grammatically correct in some alternate universe!!

Who cares? She is stupid, the idea of a 90210-spin-off is stupid and actually the entire network is crap.

I think Amanda Bynes would add some comedy to this show. There has to be some character that's not all drama all the time.

Hillary is a doll and a likeable actress. I don't know if this show will be any good though.
