High School Musical 3 Not Struck by Strike

Good news, rugrats! The much-awaited High School Musical 3 has not been waylaid by the WGA strike. "Fortunately, Peter [Barsocchini, who also penned the original and sequel] was able to get [the new script] into us before the strike," director Kenny Ortega told TV Guide at Sunday's Diversity Awards. "Now we're developing our music. It's exciting. We're looking forward to beginning in '08," with an eye on an October theatrical release.

Despite much chatter about whom from the original cast has signed on to return — Ashley Tisdale, for one, tells us she definitley has — Ortega maintains, "They're all coming back."

And back again? "I don't know that it will be the final for the franchise, but it's the last in this trilogy," he says. "It's the last year in the life of the Wildcats." — Reporting by Nick Freilich

It's Ashley Tisdale, not Tidale. When you type for a living, you definitely critique and proofread everything! LOL As long as Sharpay (Ashley) is back, my girls will be tuning in. I think 3 might be enough though, just to show them graduating, etc. That should be the end to it. Too much of a good thing is too much.

Of course it's unaffected by the strike. Trained chimps could turn out this formulaic tripe.

Yes, because everybody is sooo concerned about High School Musical during the writers' strike...what would we have done without it?

Oh wait, maybe pick up a book? Nah...that's SO 20th Century. Please

Well, I for one am grateful that HSM will go on. This is one of the VERY FEW franchises that kids and teenagers should be encouraged to watch. I understand adults maybe not running to theatres on opening night, but really, this movie isn't designed for adults looking to see violence and sex on screen.
I may not be a tween anymore, but I am looking forward to watching this film if only to enjoy a movie with no underlying sexual themes, or worrying about what foul language will be used.
