High School Musical 3 Will Go Back to School

Troy, Gabs, Sharpay and the gang are not getting the G-rated poop scared out of them in the next High School Musical installment. A Disney spokesperson confirms for TVGuide.com that plans to set the next entry — a theatrical release, and for which none of the major stars have yet inked deals — during Halloween and in some sort of haunted house have been dropped. Instead, HSM3 will be centered on the fast-growing "kids'" senior year.

Who will Troy take to the prom?! Oops, sorry, got carried away for a second there.

That's cool...a Halloween thing could have been extra cheesy. Senior year strifes will be interesting to watch and good for young people (of which I am not one!) to see.

Either way I'll watch it!

I didn't realize a Halloween theme was on the table. Last night as I was watching HSM2, I thought "I guess HSM3 will show them graduating from high school".

Wow, I'm psychic!!

Ha! Wait until "Retirement Home Musical", when there will be exciting choreography incorporating walkers and wheelchairs, not to mention the ballad to adult diapers, "How Can I Go?"

Oh yeah if anything HSM isn't cheesy at ALL. LOL.

Law School Musical is not as far-fetched as it seems. When I was at Penn Law in the early 1980s, I was part of the Law School Light Opera Company, which put on a Gilbert & Sullivan show every year (Gilbert - or maybe it was Sullivan - was a lawyer and many G&S shows have law-related themes or dialogue). A surprising number of law students were theater geeks in high school!

I really liked both movies. I can't wait for number 3. Can anyone say Frankie and Annette?

True it defintely has a fairly substantial "cheese" factor if you will. But one of the charms is that set in the real world and putting the kids in a setting with all sorts of "ghostly" goings on would in effect move HSM into "Scooby Doo" territory. Getting rid of the Haunted House concept is a good move IMO.
