The NBC Universal Television, DVD, Music & Consumer Products Group (which really needs a catchier name) on March 18 will release a Heroes soundtrack featuring exclusive tracks from the likes of Wilco ("Glad It's Over"), Panic! at the Disco ("Nine in the Afternoon") and Imogen Heap ("Not Now But Soon"), as well as classic tunes from Bob Dylan ("Man in the Long Black Coat") and David Bowie ("Heroes"), reports the Reporter. The disc will also include the Heroes theme, while the B-side (do CDs have B-sides?) will feature 45 minutes of nonstop Mohinder narrative.

In the meantime, this Friday NBCUTDMCPG will begin unspooling at Zune and MSN a series of five music videos created by Heroes producer/director Allan Arkush, each setting show footage to songs from the album. First up: Nada Surf's "Weightless."

LOL! Catchier and shorter!! Even the initials are incredibly long. Boy, does that name sound pompous.

Definitley one of those names-by-committee, where the DVD group was all, "Hey, make sure you spell out that we make DVDs," and then the music department was like, "If the DVD guys get top billing, you better damn well make sure Music is in the name, too!" - MWM

Since when is Heroes a show known for its music? I mean they might as well call this Now! That's What I Call Music: Heroes Edition. I mean it isn't really a show with a soundtrack like Grey's. And they are basically making you pay for music you can download on Itunes(none of those songs are original) and videos that you could watch on youtube.

Yeah, NBCUTDMCPG(lol) just wants our money.
