Ledger's Final Film Might Be Completed; Williams Puts Hers On Hold
Terry Gilliam by Tomos Brangwyn/ WireImage.com, Heath Ledger by Tim Whitby/WireImage.com
Initially following Heath Ledger's tragic death, production on the actor's last film, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, halted immediately, and it was widely suspected that the film would not get made.
But now, according to comments that Imaginarium costar Christopher Plummer made to People, director Terry Gilliam's working on a way to save the film. "Fortunately, because the film deals with magic," Plummer said, "there is a way, perhaps, of turning Heath into other people and then using stills and I think they call it CGI."
Plummer also noted that Gilliam and Ledger were close, and that the director "wants to dedicate it to Heath, of course."
Michelle Williams, meanwhile, has put her next film on hold until she "is ready," People quotes one source as saying. In her next movie, Blue Valentine, she is set to star opposite Ryan Gosling, with production originally planned to begin Feb. 25.
While the Valentine crew is expected to tailor schedules to Williams, specifics have yet to be worked out on Imaginarium. We hope Gilliam can work his magic. — Anna Dimond

I think it's cool that Terry Gilliam is dedicating it to Heath Ledger. The Dark Knight should be dedicated to him as well. But, it would probably say, at the end, "In loving memory of Heath Ledger".

I think its great that Terry Gilliam is using CGI and plans to finish the film. I guess its bitter sweet really. Everyone is devasted over Heath's death. He was an amazingly talented actor, he had so much going for him and his life was cut short way too soon. My heart goes out to everyone close to him. Personally I think the paparazi went waaay too far in showing photos of him like that after he died. I mean he should at least have some peace and those who loved him shouldn't be subjected to that garbage. They (paparazi) always seem to find new lows to sink to. I just think someone needed to say something about it.

I agree with the poster who found Irwin's widow to be unsavory. She has gone on to exploit her daughter every chance she can. And the idiot celebrity show that has interviewed the lady who smiles while telling us she supplied drugs to Heath. Why can't they arrest someone who makes an on air confession to drug sales? Good for Jake for his silence. I think Jake is like Heath in his love for the craft but dislike for the public attention.

Well lets see...scrap the movie = loose all the money already invested, finish the movie and his death will probably help the movie turn a bigger profit ...hmmm... what to do? Of course they're going to finish the movie. It's all about the money plain and simple.

Not with Terry Gilliam it isn't - His films prove money is not his first concern - not to say it isn't a concern but it has been about his artistic vision. And he has had some rotten luck with his projects. I hope he can make something good out of this.

No director has worse luck than Terry Gilliam. Maybe he can throw in some Don Quixote footage.

From what I've read on other sites, the main character of Imaginarium is falling through several different worlds. The plan seems to be (and this may turn out to be false, just what I've read) that with each new world the main character falls through, it will be played by a different actor. So Heath's performance will be him in one of those worlds and then when he falls through to the next world it will be a different actor and that person will fall through to the next world and become a different actor again. It seems like that method would work and still maintain Heath's final performance.
